This Year's Model Updates:

The Chevrolet Equinox has been completely redesigned for 2010. It has sleek new styling inside and out, a more fuel-efficient engine lineup and a lower price.

Pros:
  • Upscale look inside and out, quiet cabin, generous storage bins, roomy back seat, fuel-efficient four-cylinder, available high-tech features.
Cons:
  • Not quite as much cargo space as chief rivals, some controls difficult to reach, lifeless steering.

  • Why No Home Link - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Top of the line should have Home Link Included. Home Link is not even a option. Did not know until going down highway after buying. Love the Power Tailgate, Great Interior Need to hold button for memory seat

Very nice, smooth riding crossover. 20 mpg average with the 264 HP V-6 and tow package. We needed to tow a 17 ft. boat and this LTZ was equipped for towing but also had GPS NAV, leather, etc...We actually didnt have to spend too much for all the extras compared to Cadillac SRX and Lexus RX 350.

  • Nice for an Equinox - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

My wife wanted a sport utility so she could set up and see better. We owned a 2007 equinox, and I hated it. The 2010 is a 100% improvement. I wish it had more power, but the 4 cy does quite well. We have made 31.5 mpg one time, but at 65mph it normally gets 28- 30 mpg. Interstate driving at 78 mph gets 25 mpg. It is a nice vehicle for the price. It does not get around to good for a FWD in snow and ice.

  • Great car when it works - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

I love everything about this car when it works...the USB port has an error (always say AUX out with 2 different ipods and cords, it has been in the shop 4 times (I only have 7400 miles on it) because GM didnt get all of the metallic dust out of the engine from the casting. CAM Sensors cleaned, then replaced (x2), then CAM actuators replaced. As I said it looks darn good, gets great gas mileage and is decently peppy for a 4 cylinder. I still sort of recommend it, but I am embarrassed that this car stalled and bucked at red lights (almost pushed me through a few times) as much as it did. I mean embarrassed as in this is an American made car and we need to step our game up.

So far its been my wifes car, and has seen virtually no long highway drives, but the average mileage being displayed is 16.8mpg. I feel sick. I fully expected 20+ in town, and 25+ for the type of driving she does. Seemed like a great car, and is very nice, but I bought it for fuel economy and I feel cheated.

I like the design and ride of my Equinox. Smooth and quite on the rode. 4 cyl seems a little sluggish sometimes but the fuel economy is good. So far averaging 23.8 mpg. There is plenty of room for my wife, dog and I to take trips. Interior design is nice and contemporary with no wood grain.:) Have had issues with wavy lines in windshield. Dealer replaced it with another wavy windshield. Also have seen this in other Equinoxes on the lot. It is extremely noticeable on sunny days. If you can see lines in your windshield too please put in a formal complaint with GM through your dealer to replace it and help me out. Also had paint chipping where the fascia meets the right front quarter panel.

We have owned this car for about 7 months and have 10K+ miles. Overall we have been very pleased. This is the entry level car. We average about 19- 24 MPG ( this is disappointing). Power is alright and it handles well.

  • Good vehicle, bad customer service - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

Mileage wise this vehicle gets about what it advertises. Im getting around 22-23mpg in the city. Havent had a chance to take it on a road trip yet, so I cant speak for the highway mileage. My major complaint is that I ordered a cargo shade upon my purchase and after nearly 2 months its still on back order, and no one can tell me when I can expect it. I called GM and they contacted a dealership that had a cargo shade in KC, MO and the customer who ordered that cargo shade had to wait from July till Dec. If you want an accessory upon purchase then forget getting it in a reasonable amount of time. This bad experience has made me feel the car was not worth buying.

Just drove 17 hrs a day x 2. c pillar creates a big blind spot. Amazing front seat leg room! had 3 kids in the back shoulder to shoulder, yet they made the trip without complaint. rear knee room is good, but minimal room for feet under the seats. never could position the driver seat adequately. front edge of the seat cushion too high in relation to the back edge. supposed to be adjustable, but never found a good position. The engine had anemic performance... scary at times merging into highway traffic. However, we got 25 mpg with AWD! and 75 mph using cruise control! No other vehicle that I know of can make that claim.

  • Nice Crossover - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

Never considered the previous version, when shopping for new small crossover. Went to the Toyota dealership and saw the Equinox out from the the Chevy dealer across the street. Much nicer in than all competition. Very quiet, seems to have plenty of power with the 4 cyl and gas mileage for vehicle of this size is very good. Interior is much nicer than anything I have seen in this class and price range, even compares well to our 2009 Volvo. Overall if you are looking for a smallish crossover the Equinox is worth checking out
