  • Good truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

My expierience with this truck is outstanding. It is powerful enough to get around in deep snow. It has plenty of room inside and it rides like a dream. I couldnt be happier with my purchase.

  • Colorado proves to be a surprising ride! - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

At the time that I was shopping for a light duty truck I was impressed enough with the Chevy Colorado to take a chance at first glance. Sure there was a lot of history with US trucks in as much as how reliable they were compared to their Japanese competitors. For once, Im happy to report that I was right (thank goodness!) in my initial assessment of this impressive vehicle. After 63,000 miles my truck still rides fine, has been hassle free and has made me a believer. Its been just what Id hoped itd be and a bit more. A no-nonsense, get me there-and-back, reliable truck. Its not as fancy as most the others but I have to say Im really happy with my purchase.

  • I like it but ... - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Overall, a good reliable utility vehicle. Dumb question for GM ... Why use light primer for a black painted truck? It shows every scratch ! Also, what were you thinking with the dip stick? It is a long cable that does not reliably show oil level.

The 4WD system works great! I have had the Colorado on the beach many times. The front seat is roomy and it drives great. I am surprised at the power of the I-5 engine.

  • Best Truck for the money - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

I bought my Colorado in the summer of 2005 during the height of the employee discount sales and got a fantastic deal. I now have over 32,000 miles on my Colorado and I love it. The styling is great, the interier while a bit over-plastic in some areas seems to be holding up better then my S-10 Blazer. The 6-disk CD player is great, and overall the truck is fairly comfortable on long trips. The ride is impeccable for a 4x4 truck, rides like a car on trips, and a truck when it needs to. Having owned multiple 4x4s this one is the best and most stable negotiating icy roads. Gas mileage is good (20MPG on avg). The engine needs a bit more refinement as it seems to stuggle in high altitutes.

  • All of the Above - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Great truck so far. Bought a 2004 from the internet based only on the available reviews, features, price, and looks. Everything was true. Good power, torque, handling, ride quality, interior and bed space. Mediocre interior, flat bucket seats, lots of plastic. After 3000 miles I am very happy. The I5 and 4L60e work together beautifully. Quick shifts and instant downshifts. No busy shifting. Excellent ride quality and impressive handling for a small truck. The new I5 engine is impressive but has to prove its long term reliability. I am so happy to finally drive a vehicle that has over 200 ft lbs of torque available from a small engine.

  • Like It Not Love It - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Great truck if you dont need or want a full size truck. I had a S10 with a 4.3 V6. This 5cyl has plenty of go power but I miss the engine braking. When you back off the gas it coast on and on. Im afraid this will wear the brakes out sooner. The frame is much stifer and the ride on this 4x4 with the Z71 package is better then what I had with the 2wd S10.

  • Working Out - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Like many others, I had looked seriously at the Tacomas, but for what you get the price difference is too great. For $28,000 you dont get leather, power seats, etc. Ive go 26,000 miles on my Coly now and havent had a problem yet. Ive upped the tires to BFG ATs 32s, leveled the front, added a Magnaflow exhaust, K&N cold intake and it really goes. Sounds much closer to the rugged looks of the Z71. Even with the bigger tires, the mileage still hits within range the estimates. Yes, the PCM was calibrated for the tires. Its fun, quick enough and the leather seats are anything but uncomfortable.

  • A Keeper! - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

As a first time truck owner, I was a little unsure of what to truly expect after driving it off of the lot. After driving the truck for about 2 months now, I can say that I made a good decision! The truck responds quickly to driver input, with very little delay at highway speed. The only negative I have is the response off of the line. Low end torque needs to be adjusted. Other than that, the Colorado is a versatile little horse. Its a keeper!

  • Bad luck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

I bought the truck because I am a huge chevy fan. My prior vehicle was the S- 10 and should have kept it. I have had the Colorado for a year and had it to the dealer 6 times for repair, twice for the same thing! It has cost a lot of wasted time. I would strongly recommend using caution when buying a first year model!
