Simple but Solid - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By FirstNewTruck - September 15 - 4:43 pmIt isnt decked out with all sorts of bells and whistles, so if thats what youre looking for this might not be your truck. But it is sharp looking on the road, suprisingly roomy Crew Cab (my three kids car seats fit in the back), pretty good power train, and so far the reliability has been really good . All in all Im pretty satisfied with it. I bought the Z85 since its mostly being used for commuting to work, and I have no complaints. I have the Z85 w/ I5, Crew w/4WD.

Nice small truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By bart - August 31 - 9:07 amGas mileage was at 18.5 mpg until i installed the k&n air filter, then mileage went to 21.5. Have used it to tow 6x12 U-haul trailers with amazing results, plenty of power and gas mileage stayed good. Its not like my old F-150 but more economocal to drive. Only had two warranty issues so far. Front sensor on ABS and squeaky rear brakes, which the dealer took care of both.

05 Colorado - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Jim - July 21 - 7:13 pmBasically I like the truck. I havent had any problems and the truck seems to be a reliable vehicle. It seems tight with no rattles or noises. The seat material is prone to soiling for the workman and a different material is needed. It has enough pick up for me, however the gas mileage is a disappointment for a 2005 vehicle. (14/15 city 20 on the road)It does have the 410 rear

Best new truck around. - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Chevydriver - June 6 - 10:56 pmI have the Z85 LS 2wd Crew Cab with the I5 3.5L engine and auto tran. This truck replaced a 97 S-10 LS Ext. Cab. Although the truck is really new, I dont see any outstanding complaints. It is very fuctional and most of all, fun to drive. The features you get these days on GM trucks is impressive for the price. I did my comparison homework and found that with all the rebates from GM and low MSRP, the Colorado is the best value in its class. Althoug the Crew Cab shortens the bed to 5, it does not look carlike compared to a Ford Sport-trac. With the additon of the towing package you have room for 5 people, the gear in the bed and a smaller "toy" to haul to the lake or woods!

2005 Colorado - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Brad Wilson - April 8 - 1:13 pmThis vehicles performance is much less than I expected. Gas mileage is nothing to brag about. The four wheel drive buttons are poorly designed in there location. The engine noise is terrible. And because of being unable to keep the front end lined-up, your tires only last around 15,000 miles. I will never again purchase a small Chevy pickup.

05 Colorado 2.8L Crew Cab LS - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Phase700B - April 5 - 9:25 amWe purchased this Colorado as a Chevy program vehicle from the dealer. It had a great option package, is a crew cab LS and has both OnStar and XM radio. The clincher was the Granite Blue color which makes the truck look upscale. It hauls my 1500lb boat trailer & also a small utility trailer with no trouble. Its not a rocket, but very surprising in what it can do for a 4cyl. Around town we get 17-19mpg and hwy 24-26mpg. Lower numbers are for winter driving, higher reflect wind or hwy speed. I drive 65-70 hwy. Love that it came with power windows/locks, AC, OnStar, 6CD/XM Radio, locking differential, and traction ctrl. 06 and later can not get these last 2 options on 4cyl crew cab LS.

2005 Chevy Colorado Z71 Ext. Cab - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Dave - March 10 - 1:48 pmDriving the vehicle on a day to day basis the gas mileage averages around 18 mpg. Lacking power in some conditions and interior is cheap. The vehicle has some excess noise as well inside. Overall though the vehicle is better than the majority of the competetion. I am 35 years old and this is my 48th vehicle. I have had Porsches, Mercs, and all sorts of SUVs, trucks. This one is just fine and the competion is lacking in space, comfort, and overall fit and finish, especially on their exteriors.

My first Chevy - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Lance T - January 16 - 2:00 amTruck is two months old. Appears to be well build, and is very fun to drive. Engine and drive train are very smooth and have plenty of power (although a bit noisy when you get on it). Rear seat backs severly limit visability. Seats need to be more supportive and less firm. Other than those issues, I love it so far. Great curb appeal too!

Hoping For More - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By pricezright - January 13 - 8:15 pmI talked myself into buying this Chevy because I didnt want to pay an extra 4K for the Tacoma. I tried to look past the Consumer Report ratings, but they are pretty much dead on. The gas mileage is not bad, but not great either for a 5 cyl. I average 18.5 MPG in the summer with a mix of hilly and flat driving. Winter (with warming the car up) it averages 15.5 MPG. Towing a small trailer isnt too bad, except going up hills. Handling is good. Extended cab access is good. I like the size of the truck. Interior is cheap, seats are cheap. Ive had it to the dealer 3 or 4 times in less than a year, luckily the warranty covered it all. Bed feels like its made of tin. Wont buy again.

Regular Cab LS / Automatic w/3.5 - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By KC - November 29 - 12:10 pmThe truck rides and drives just like a midsize car, not like what most people think of for a pickup trip. I have the base suspension, not the stiff off road suspension, yet I have 4WD. That makes for a much smoother ride. Even my wife thinks it drives and rides very well. The seats are supportive yet comfortable. So far, a great purchase for our family! :)
