  • Not a bad truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Not as big as some of the newer trucks by Dodge, Nissan and Toyota, but if you truly want a small truck with decent gas mileage this is a nice truck. The power off the line is kind of weak, but when passing, the truck can handle its own. The power is steady all the way up. Not jumpy like my full size Sierra. I love the Z71 package. It brings the truck up higher but not too high to load things like the new full size trucks. Overall looks really grew on me too. I used to hate the front but it grew on me enough to buy one.

I think the Colorado has a nice ride, better than I expected. The 5 Cyl has enough pick up and go for normal driving. The passing gear works fine, when it is needed. i cruise at 65 with no problem. I havent had it for long, but I tested a lot of mid sized pick/ups before spending 25K. Colorado so far has met my expectations, considering the other comparable models cost much more.

  • This Aint Your Dads Compact! - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

I have the 4DR extended cab, Z71 4x4. It has plenty of leg room. This is no compact. The truck handles very well, and brakes equally as well.I also have the 3.5lt ebgine w/200 horses. After the cold intake is installed(approx.$350)The horses go up to 235-240. It gets 275-290 miles per Tank.More on road trips. That is w/the A/c running. It also has 15" rims(not bycycle tires).4 wheel drive on the fly comes in handy, especially in the desert.4drs w/no seats are nice for fishing, hunting or just keep your tools back there. It is not a fullsize bed,but then you wont have to move your friends. It still has enough room for medium size jobs.

  • Chevy Colorado, a decent truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
    By -

After a bad start my Chevy Colorado has proven to be a decent truck. Getting 18 mpg. My bad start had me back at the dealer 4 times to fix a noisy dash. After switching to another dealer they found the hood was the culprit all along. My main complaint is the sound of this engine. It sounds like a Volvo or Audi. Also the gas pedal is too close to the brake pedal. I love the looks of the exterior, but the interior is very basic. It does feel kind of cheap overall. Great rebates and additional dealer discounts made me go with the Chevy instead of the new Toyota or Nissan. I do wish it was a little closer to the other midsize trucks in size, although that does make it easier to fit in the average size garage.

The five cylinder engine is very peppy going up the steep mountain roads, even when fully loaded. The gas mileage is excellent for a pick up truck. The transmission is smooth.

  • Good truck for family of 4 - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

The truck is not to big or too small. I travel mostly by myself, so having a full size truck would be a waste. The Colorado drives really nice & quiet! I had an S-10 with v6 (1999) and this truck runs circles around it. Gas mileage on highway, up & down hills is about 21-22mpg. In town about 19-20. So far no problems. The only problem I see thats out there, is the price of these trucks (Toyotas, Fords, Dodges etc.). Its out of control!

  • Midsize comfort - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
    By -

I was a full-size truck owner looking for something a bit smaller and easier on gas. The Colorado fits the bill. Much easier to park in the Walmart parking lot not to mention my garage. The box might be small for some people but I can get at the things in the back without climbing in. I pull a double ATV trailer and a utility trailer with ease. The 4000# load range is more than enough for my needs. The cab has room enough for four adults and is much more comfortable than my 2002 extended cab GMC Seirra.

  • Colorado good for compact truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

No problems for a compact truck. It has good low end pickup, is fairly comfortable on long trips, an Im pleasently suprised at the good gas mileage. The truck is used in my courier business, and am pleased so far.

I previsouly had a ford ranger and now currently a colorado, I like the colorado a lot better in some ways. I have the 3.5 I-5 liter which has more power than my previous 4.0 V6 The towing capacity is lower than that of my ranger. overall I am happy with the truck. The colorado handles turns very well.
