  • Four wheel drive search. - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

I was looking for a four wheel drive truck. I was going to buy another toyota truck like the one I was driving now. So, I went to the Toyota dealership. I was surprised in a bad way. Toyota has beccome one slick marketing item like all the rest of them. Nice slick paint jobs, lots of gadgets, impressive stuff to fool the green horns into thinking they were driving the real monster here. Not to mention real nice prices here too. Disappointed, went to the chevy dealership across the street, I first thought I was wasting my time, until I drove one. More imppressive power than the toyota, yeah more guts. No fancy gadgets, just plain stuff. I love it!

Great all around truck for me. Love the exterior, sharper than all of the competition. The interior isnt anything special, but its a truck, not a Cadillac. On long trips my right leg sits uncomfortable due to the transmission hub while using the cruise. But, I am 64". I dont haul much, so it was a great fit. Engine has plenty of power and does all that I ask of it. I dont hot rod around town but when I press the gas, its always been there. Feels like it has more if I needed it. Very fun in snow. The truck brakes well, it doesnt seem to nose-dive at quick stops (could be the Z71 suspension). I averaged 20 mpg all around for the last year. Not one regret since I bought.

  • First Chevrolet Truck Experience - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

I received this truck in May as a company vehicle, and since picking it up new, it has 25,000 miles on it. Ive experienced only one problem with this vehicle - the coating on the radio buttons chips off, exposing the white plastic behind. All in all, the quality has been un-like that of any other American car Ive ever driven. Its solid, well designed, the interior is well executed, and its extremely quiet. I do find the driver and passenger seats extremely uncomfortable however - all though its a truck, and sits up high, the seats are essentially on the floor - leaving me with my knees in my chest when driving. Perhaps making all seats power would fix this??

I like the truck very much. It does everything I would like in a truck. I would recommend buying one, or a GMC since they are about the same. Especially planning ahead and using the GM Master Card and Employee Pricing.

  • Colorado Z71 crew cab - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

For the money it is the best compact pickup out there. I have about 8000 miles on it so far and it gets about 19-20 mpg. It cost me about 5 to 6 thousand less than a Frontier or Tacoma. Great buy.

  • Good truck for price. - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

I bought the truck in June of this year. So far it has been OK. Handling is great and fuel mileage is also great. Overall this is a great truck.

  • My Colorado Review - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

Basically, when I started, I was looking for a used truck, and was willing to spen no more than $15,000. I was at Cooper Chevrolet in Anniston, Alabama, in the used car section, when I saw this base truck listed for $16,200. I asked if I could drive it, they said yes, and it was a love affair from then on. This truck has a real strong engine, vortec 2800 and gets great gas mileage (24 to 25 mpg). I am glad I bought this new truck, although it was a little more than I could afford, it is worth it. The build is a little cheap, but it is one solid tough truck.

  • Great Truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

My wife and I have owned our Colorado for just over a year now. She uses it to travel for work and as our grocery getter. So far the truck has only given us one problem and that is with the sterio speakers. We keep the oil changed and the tires balanced and rotated, the alignment gets checked every 3 to 4 months, and is only slightly out in toe as expected. Other than that, basic maintainance, and the truck is awesome. I would recomend this truck to anyone wanting a clear view of the road and who doesnt tow heavy loads, especially if you have kids or pets. We just wish it got a little better milage (Best 22 on highway, 19 in town). Thank you Chevrolet.

  • Very satisfied, but room for change - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado

The appearance of the 05 Colorado is one of the best Ive seen. The four door design and the addition of the side curtain airbags were a selling point. I have noticed tight quarters near the gas/brake pedals which concern me the longer I drive it. The exhaust noise doesnt seem to fit the statement the tough exterior makes. With a few changes Im confident that the Colorado will be the leading compact truck on the market.

  • Looks Good, Runs Good, But Bad Fan - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
    By -

I love the Chevy Colorado for its fuel economy and stylish exterior. However, my fan only runs on high. The other 3 speeds dont do a thing. It wasnt purchased like this, but seems to be a manufacturer defect. Three months ownership and 3 trips to have the fan repaired. The Chevy Colorado loses much of its sportiness with this problem.
