Overview & Reviews
Chevrolet fiddles with the trim levels -- last year's base model is now the LS, while last year's LS model is now the LT.
- Low price, nimble handling, ample headroom, logical control layout, available MP3 player, loads of cargo room in hatchback models.
- Not much power, imprecise manual shifter, side airbags not available.

A great small car with much potential! - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By Buddy - October 14 - 5:43 pmI replaced a 98 4-dr Metro (60000 miles)with this Aveo LT model with auto trans and all the options (MP3 radio, 6 speaker system, anti-lock brakes, etc.). The difference is night and day. This is a car that can be modified to satisfy several markets. Make a few cosmetic changes in the front, add a stronger drivetrain and sportier interior and this car will appeal to the younger crowd that wants a new car with style, but one that doesnt cost a lot of cash. The ride is smooth and quiet, and the engine is sufficiently strong, light years ahead of the old Metro model. GM has a real winner in this model!

Loved this car - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By shane - September 15 - 10:50 amI am not a review writer, but I wanted to say a few good things about my Aveo. I was just involved in a roll over accident. The car got decent gas mileage and mostly was a commuter car. I have taller boys. one is 63" and was comfortable in the back seat. We decided to save a few dollars on a trip an took this car. To no fault of the car we went into the median and rolled 3 times. We all had minor injuries, but basically walked away from a roll over.

Love my Aveo - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By aveo fan - July 22 - 3:32 amGreat car, have had it for 3 years, bought brand new at a dealer. If you want something more than a reliable, gas sipping tin can on wheels dont buy this, you will be dissapointed. Never any problems with it, have driven it from midwest to east coast, comfortable.

Shes the Best - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By laura - June 17 - 9:22 amI love my little baby. This was a great investment and I havent been sorry even 1 day. My husband is 62" and I am 53" and we are both happy with the roomyness as well as how she handles. I get between 35 and 40 to the gallon and we love her at the pump. We love her so much we call her Cherry. I pet her behind the mirrors till she purrs each night(just kidding) I plan to buy another one next year I just hope that they keep them as great as this one.

Great Car For The Money - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By Jim - May 14 - 8:56 pmMany people make the mistake of comparing this car to a Camry, Accord or some much more expensive car. However for between 10K and 13K this is a great car. Mine gets great mileage, looks good and is easy on the wallet. I think its the greatest bargain in the US. Its a great car at a great price.

Long term information - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By KW - April 20 - 1:41 amI have over 56,000 miles on my 5 spd hatchback. Love it. Absolutely no problems, never been in the shop. Ride is very smooth and controlled. Turns on a dime (18 ft turning circle). Lifetime average MPG is at 34.7, top was 44, lowest was 27, but only been below 30 MPG four times. Last 6 months overall average is 38.9 MPG. I cant believe the value I got with this purchase. Engine just purrs. Ride is quiet at 60-65 cruise speed (but Ive been keeping it at 55 lately for better MPG). Acceleration is adequate for all my needs. Would by another without question. Fit and finish is supurb. Seat is comfortable for long drives. Plenty of room for backseat passengers.

Great Little Car - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By Steve - January 28 - 2:41 amThis little Chevy Aveo of mine Has been one of the trustworthy running cars I have ever owned . I now have over 40,000 miles plus on it , And its never been in the shop for repairs . Its been to the Mid-west from the west coast and back over the Mountains and this little car ran great even at speeds at 85-mph And this car gave me no pains at all. The only time my car has been in the shop was for an il change. This little car has a super great turning rate . One can do a U-Turn in a tighter spot than any other car I have ever known to do . This little car is fun to drive .

My Experience with this car, Chevy Aveo - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By Chevy Aveo - September 30 - 8:04 pmAlthough the little Chevy Aveo may very well be the cheapest car that one can by brand new, my experience with my Chevy Aveo has been nothing but wonderful . After reading all the Pros and Cons about the car , I bought one for myself and I love it. This last July 2007 I took a road trip to the state of Minnesota from where I live ( Seattle Washington) qnd that little car ran the best and most trouble free then any other . Performance wise, slightly weak in the mountains but did alright considering the steepness of the hills. In the mountains for gas mileage I got about 32 mph . On the flat lands I got the best of 40 plus miles to the gallon even with the A/C on .
