Overview & Reviews
Chevrolet fiddles with the trim levels -- last year's base model is now the LS, while last year's LS model is now the LT.
- Low price, nimble handling, ample headroom, logical control layout, available MP3 player, loads of cargo room in hatchback models.
- Not much power, imprecise manual shifter, side airbags not available.

Rust bucket - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By sandy smith - March 30 - 8:07 pmMy neighbor and I both bought aveo hatchback not long after buying it the back was replaced 2 times rusting inside to out. Now all the doors are rusting on inside under the rubber on top of doors. They said they got parts from Korea and they rust during shipment. So much for new cars rust bucket. I only have 23,500 miles on mine but now have to get rid of it before Im only left with engine. Roof rusting as well hers and mine. I had mine rust proofed as soon as I bought it

Anemic - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By Mark - October 3 - 2:28 pmSince my purchase of a 2005 Aveo, I have been greatly disappointed. I had a Geo Metro Hatchback (3 Cyl) that had more get up and go than this car with 15mpg more than what I am now receiving. The tires wore out in 25000 miles of highway driving. The A/C is marginal, and the auto- transmission is absolutely the worst. I also have a Plymouth Voyager, it gets almost the same gas mileage as the 1000lb smaller car with 2 more cyclinders to feed gas. Im lucky to get 25 mpg in city, a corvette will get the same driven moderately. This is one of the poorest cars GM has put their badge on, period. For the same amount of money, go buy a Honda Accord or Civic.

Not Quite Sure - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By agrzeskowiak - July 11 - 9:17 amI fell in love with this car before I bought it. Was told it was 1 of a few that were painted key lime green from the factory. After driving it for about a month maybe 2 it seems to feel like something is bent somewhere. Car seems to have vibrations and interior door handles are loose. As also the black appliques on the rear doors is buckling. I have gone back to the dealership in May of 06 to get these fixed they are still ordering parts and have not heard from them.

Maintenance Nightmare - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By Cindy - April 22 - 11:09 amWe bought this car new and it has been in the shop 6 times in under a year from issues with the clock, parking brake not holding car on hills even in park, Blower motor issues, suspension crunch problems in the front end, brake problems , do yourself a favor and stay away from this little time bomb, we traded it in last week with 10,000 mi on her and bought a new Cobalt LS Sedan, this car is so much nicer inside and it gets better mileage than the Aveo did, It has more power and a way better ride and the price was about the same as the Aveo

Unfortunate Lemon - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By One Good Granny - January 13 - 11:26 amHave owned this car 3 months and front end pulls upon driving and increases pull during braking. Mechanics adjusted sub frame, replaced one wheel (manufactures defect), alignment performed. It still pulls yet now in the opposite direction! Too unsteady for a brand new vehicle. I paid $16,400 for this vehicle. Was told sub frame misalignment normal as shipped from Korea and rough seas can pull on frame tie downs.

Aveo - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By princess - December 20 - 10:54 amThis vehicle is not one I would recommend I have had so many problems with it. It has been in and out of the shop for 2 months now and that should not be happening with 5500 miles on it I purchased it in April...I do not suggest this car to anyone. They are garbage.

this car is not reliable - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
By martin fan - July 19 - 10:00 amwe have had our car for about 3 mths and it has been in the shop all of the 3 mths except 3-4 weeks. the front end stays out of align and they cant fix it. they didnt offer to swap out or buy back, we had to ask for it. still havent been taken care of. lets people know that all general motors is worried about is the money, not the satisfaction or safety of the buyer. ill never buy another chevrolet as long as i live. someone needs to step up and make satisfaction happen and quit using excuses to stall the buyer.
