This Year's Model Updates:

A six-speed SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) transmission is now optional on select 3 Series models, while a five-speed Steptronic automatic is now offered with the 330i Performance Package. Rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and hands-free wireless cell phone capability are now standard features on the sedan and wagon. There are new alloy wheel designs for the 325i, 325xi and 330xi Sport Package. All 330i sedans get a revised grille -- a new black grille instead of silver, with a lower grille combination of body color and black. All 3 Series coupes and convertibles receive a revised front fascia, plus new front and rear bumper contours, Adaptive headlamps and taillights and new designs for both the standard and optional wheels. Interior changes are limited to a revised climate control panel. Finally, Sirius Satellite Radio is now available as an accessory on all 3 Series models.

Pros:
  • Available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners
Cons:
  • Pricey for its market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

  • My 1st Convertible - 2004 BMW 3-Series

I really love my car. I keep the top down even in the chicago winter! If its above 20 degs., the windscreen and the seat heaters do a fine job of keeping the front seat passengers warm! No need for a hardtop. If I were to buy this again, Id spend the extra $$$ to get the 330Cic with the 6 spd manual trans. The extra power would make it that much more fun.

Ive had this car an lil over an year and i dont have much to complain about the ride is ok and the interior could use an lil more. I onwed 6 audis from the audi 5000 to the audi a6 the thing i rather be better on the 3 series is to have an "richer" interior, better sound system(conv only) an little easier on the bumps. by owning audis and test driving the lexus sc430, when i got back in my 330cic it seems plain on the inside but its looks ten times better the the infinite interior dont get me wrong i love the car it has enough power looks great tops open/close nicely i would highly recommend one

  • Awesome Car! - 2004 BMW 3-Series

Traded both my 1996 BMW 328is Coupe and 2003 JEEP Liberty to get this car. The car is extremely powerful and drives with great handling. Everything one would expect from a BMW. Test drove an 330xi back in December 03 in about 6 to 7 inches of snow w/ no problems whatsoever.

Just purchased from Princeton BMW in New Jersey. Have owned a Mercedes C280 and numerous Honda Accords (most recently an EX-L 2003). This BMW is by far the most fun to drive. I shopped the Acura TL and BMW 325xi and was able to get both vehicles for a little over invoice. The price points were comparable, though I was looking at the BMW with not many extras; automatic, moonroof and heated seats. While the Acura TL comes loaded for the same price. The BMW rode better. The Acura had a nicer interior.I believe you would be happy with either vehicle. It depends on what you want. I really wanted a sedan with AWD.

  • Well Worth the Wait! - 2004 BMW 3-Series

After 20 years of waiting to buy a BMW, this car has not disappointed! The interior is stylish yet simple. The 184 hp V6 has plenty of power to get up and go when needed. I purchased my 325I with a manual transmission and I love every minute of the drive and I find myself making excuses to go somewhere just so I can take my car out. The ride is smooth and you always feel in control of the car at every speed and on all types of roads. The added bonus was that I got the car for $700 over invoice which I thought was great for a car that is in such demand. Cant wait to see what BMW comes up with in a few years when I make my next purchase.

I purchased this car for my frequent trips to Tahoe. With the sport package it sticks to the road whether it is wet or dry. I tried to take this car off the line, but without disabling DSC I had no luck. On the snow it is unbeatable. Chain control people are at loss when I tell them it is AWD. I have passed many SUVs and trucks on snow covered roads with full confidence. My highway gas mileage is staying around 21-21.5 when city is close to 19. Awesome car...

Best car Ive ever owned. The entire buying experience was wonderful with helpful and friendly staff. The car was delived within the quoted time frame and in perfect condition. As far as driving "The Ultimate Driving Machine", I think their catch line says it best.

The drivers set is cramped. The ride is poor. The reliability is poor. I have had it in the shop twice in the last two months with problems. German engineering is no longer the best. I plan to trade it as soon as possible and look for a Japanese engineered and designed car.

  • Worth the Money - 2004 BMW 3-Series

Car is extremly fun to drive, can only imagine how the 330xi handles. Interior is luxurious with the premium package, and is well designed not to interfere with driving experience. But, there is almost no storage space inside. With the 325xi, you feel like you can handle any turn or obstacle in the road. Looked at the G35 which has nice power, but for the overall package the BMW 3-series is the way to go.
