Overview & Reviews
The Sequoia is virtually unchanged for 2002. SR5 models have two additional stand-alone options this year: keyless remote and front foglamps.
- Ultra-refined drivetrain, surprisingly agile handling, versatile and comfortable interior, impeccable build quality.
- Non-descript styling, comparably low towing capacity.

Best SUV - 2002 Toyota Sequoia
By Chiefd54 - December 27 - 10:00 amBeing a previous owner of a Ford Exporer, I was looking for a vehicle which had several features that I felt were missing from the Ford. The Sequoia has them and more! A spacious interior, comfortable and extremly quiet ride, and relability! This vehicle is a pleaure to drive and own. One test drive was all it took to convince me that this is a quality vehicle.

But the Vhevrolet and Save - 2002 Toyota Sequoia
By Baddeal - November 20 - 10:00 amThe gas milage is terrible for this SUV. I would have reather bought the Ford or Chevy and got the performance and better milage at a much lower cost. The Toyota cost 9K more than I could have bought the Tahoe LT for. I cannot recommend this SUV.

Tried em all - 2002 Toyota Sequoia
By Big "Utes - November 14 - 10:00 amHave owned 11 large SUVs over 20 years. Sequoia is good but lacks the capabilities of the competition. Recent Car & Driver test results says Sequoia was only big ute to get stuck on their course. Got stuck twice last winter in snow - never been stuck before. All vehicles can have problems but have had to replace AC compressor, brakes, steering parts, fuel system EGR)parts, etc. Frustrated by Toyotas tendency to "wish" problems away, requiring calls to Customer Assurance. Toyota is extremely slow to issue recalls for known problems. You have to research TSBs. Im considering selling but choices for big utes are somewhat limited.

Best Full Size SUV on the Road - 2002 Toyota Sequoia
By Austin - October 2 - 10:00 amPurchased my Sequoia 2 months ago and love it. Traded in my 99 Jeep Cherokee Laredo (Terrible Vehicle) and havent thought about it since. Ive seen a few minor complaints I cant understand. You know what your getting before you buy the vehicle. If it doesnt have what you want, dont buy it! Seems simple enough. With anything though you always have a few nay sayers.

beware the AC - 2002 Toyota Sequoia
By wishicouldrecommend - September 9 - 10:00 amwould love to recommend the sequoia, but cant. with less than 10,000 miles of easy driving, ours is back in the shop a 3rd time for a broken AC. there is a technical service bulletin on the AC problems, so it is an acknowledged problem. first, the compressor seized causing $1,700 worth of warranty repairs. now, the AC mostly doesnt work. service department doesnt know whats wrong. they seem to be guessing. for $40,000, and being a toyota, this experience has been a true disappointment. the only other person i know with a sequoia had the same problems. what are the chances? well, it tells me that this must be a fairly widespread problem.

Would Buy Again - 2002 Toyota Sequoia
By ToyoOwner - May 24 - 2:00 amGreat Truck. Mileage is not a good as we like (~16 to 17) but as big as the vehicle is, reasonable. Has plenty of power and features. Blind spot is large, suggest adding supplemental mirror to both sides. Interior tends to scratch easily. Leather captain chairs are very comfortable. Handles well with good forward visibility. Ride can be stiff on bumpy roads (again this is a truck)

Love the Gas Guzzler! - 2002 Toyota Sequoia
By cruisin family - May 10 - 2:00 amThis SUV is fun to drive, hauls everything from kids to adults to you name it. Smooth ride. Gas mileage could be lots better. Avg 16mpg city/hwy.
