Best japanese car Ive owned - 1999 Mitsubishi Galant
By fritzandseamus - October 8 - 2:00 amOK, so its not a Honda or a Toyota, but that could be a good thing. Styling is great, especially with a spoiler and it will kick butt with the V6. Want to spend 10-15K more for a second faster in the 0-60 range? Then I guess this car is not for you. Want a stylish car that you can probably pass down to your kids after 80-90K miles? Then this one could fit the bill.

Not too happy - 1999 Mitsubishi Galant
By desi plains - July 4 - 10:00 amIve had a Galant for the last 4 years and all I can say is that its been satisfactory. The car has a reasonably powerful engine but the brakes are simply aweful. I have had to resurface the rotors and also replace the rotors and pads for the 48.000 miles on it. Also the audio system is pathetic. Ive also had some bearing and tire problems. The car came with Goodyear tires on which there was a manufacturing defect so there is a unique tire noise.

My Car - 1999 Mitsubishi Galant
By Jammie - May 3 - 1:33 pmGreat teenager car - the nose end is a little long and pointy, but thats about all that I dont like about it. Its a great car and drives well, I have got stuck in the snow once or twice, but even though it dosent have 4 wheel drive it does go pretty well in the snow. Oh, one other small thing I dont like about it - the cup holder situation, there are two cup holders but the back one is covered by the console lid that sticks clear out, but again just a small dumb thing.

Galant #1 - 1999 Mitsubishi Galant
By Suzanne117 - December 29 - 12:13 pmThis car handles beautifully on all road conditions. I love the luxury interior design (very comfortable). Although the car is a 99, I still get comments about how new the body looks. Some people even think it is new.

Three years together. - 1999 Mitsubishi Galant
By Nick111 - September 2 - 10:00 amI got my present Galant ES used, with 17k miles in October of 1999, when it was under a year old. The design of Galant is sharp and stylish. They preserved that agressive edge which BMW lost in their newer "soapy" vogue of recent years. Its close to 55k now. I still love and enjoy the car. The 4-cyl engine actually feels like 6-cyl. It has 2.4L, so it is plenty of power on low RPMs. I had three safety recalls, free of charge. Just regular servicing thereafter.

Mitsubishi is coming around - 1999 Mitsubishi Galant
By Layton - May 3 - 10:00 amIm still pleased with this car at 60k mi. Ive experienced one bad and one good dealership -- same experience with Ford and Dodge. It has great styling. This car hasnt given me one bit of mechanical trouble. There were a couple of loose panels that rattled, but that was an easy fix. With only 3 recalls for the first year of the body style, its been great!

102,000 Plus Miles and Still Going Strong - 1999 Mitsubishi Galant
By Gooseball - March 27 - 8:43 amI have had this car since 2002 when it had 45,000 miles. I currently have 102,000 miles on it and the car keeps on being very dependable for me. This is my first car and truly is my "baby." I wouldnt trade it in for any other.
