This Year's Model Updates:

The optional sport package now includes blacked-out headlamps and, on LX models, a premium audio system. A five-speed automatic transmission replaces last year's four-speed unit.

Pros:
  • Great value, long list of standard features, high-quality interior materials, solid construction, true off-road capability, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Mediocre fuel economy, harsh ride over sharp bumps.

Researched Toyota Highlander and test drove Hyundai Santa Fe, purchased the Sorento EX. Wanted the added protection of curtain airbags. Added Torque-on- Demand, and ABS breaks, for the best value for my buck. This truck is roomy and attractive inside and out. Handles well, seats 5 comfortably, and offers more than enough cargo space. Everytime I come outside and see it, Im glad I purchased it.

Wife was hit head on by a chevy cavalier. Chevy was totalled and the kia suffered a broken grille, hood and fender. 2500 to repair it. She was not hurt either.

After driving two Explorers for the past nine years, it was time for a change. Dollar for dollar the Sorento puts the Explorer to shame. Although I would like for the MPG to be better, overall I could not be happier. Style, comfort, options, warranty, price, the Sorento has the competition beat hands down. If youre looking for an SUV, I would seriously consider a Sorento.

After 3mths of owning this SUV, problems started happening. First a mousy sound comes from the radio console, 2nd my belt screeches from time to time and they cant find a problem, 3rd a paper crumbling noise comes from the dash/windshield area and they tried fixing it 3 times. I give up! 4th, the ac blower was replaced, 5th, a squealing noise from the outside happens when going slow which is the power steering rack and is being replaced, 6th the power window on the drivers side is moving slow and the motor is making a noise, 7th, when accelerating (I have 5 speed) a ringing noise can be heard when the windows are down and 8th, door handles and seat belt holders make noises. I have a lemon!

I have been driving a compact car for almost 10 years so this purchase was a major adjustment. I like the interior size, the quiet ride, the powertrain warranty, and the overall style of the vehicle.

  • Great SUV, very dependable & comfortable - 2005 Kia Sorento

Purchased new, now have 50K+ miles, my daughter drives it. Never a break down! Very comfortable, and dependable. Typical maintenance issue you have with any car...change brake pads, tires, oil (no surprise) but never any big problems. Two items replaced under warranty...no big deal.

I have been really happy with my Kia Sorento. It drives really well, and handles great in the snow. I am considering getting another once it is time for a new one. It has a lot of interior space compared to similar models.

The warranty was a major selling point as was the exterior styling (my wife liked that the most). For me the safety was a major factor as my wife is petite and I want her safe. Weve had the rotors turned which I dont believe should be necessary and tail light bulbs replaced both at our cost as they werent under warranty. Weve had transmission hesitation, but no break down. Weve had the overhead console multi-meter replaced twice to try to get it to be accurate. My wife thinks it is quieter than our Saturn and likes it the best of all the cars we have had. Weve also had a few undetermined rattles. Dealerships in our area SoCal have disappeared but a new one opened. So far a good buy.

This is a great looking car and a great buy. I bought mine for $21,500. It is an EX with cloth. Great pickup and a pretty good ride. Has the look of a Lexus 330 but for $12-14K less. Ride is about 85% of a 330. But what do you expect for less money.
