Overview & Reviews
The optional sport package now includes blacked-out headlamps and, on LX models, a premium audio system. A five-speed automatic transmission replaces last year's four-speed unit.
- Great value, long list of standard features, high-quality interior materials, solid construction, true off-road capability, lengthy warranty coverage.
- Mediocre fuel economy, harsh ride over sharp bumps.

Unsatisfied - 2005 Kia Sorento
By Andrea - December 1 - 6:00 amAfter 3mths of owning this SUV, problems started happening. First a mousy sound comes from the radio console, 2nd my belt screeches from time to time and they cant find a problem, 3rd a paper crumbling noise comes from the dash/windshield area and they tried fixing it 3 times. I give up! 4th, the ac blower was replaced, 5th, a squealing noise from the outside happens when going slow which is the power steering rack and is being replaced, 6th the power window on the drivers side is moving slow and the motor is making a noise, 7th, when accelerating (I have 5 speed) a ringing noise can be heard when the windows are down and 8th, door handles and seat belt holders make noises. I have a lemon!

Great SUV, very dependable & comfortable - 2005 Kia Sorento
By Tom B - November 15 - 1:36 pmPurchased new, now have 50K+ miles, my daughter drives it. Never a break down! Very comfortable, and dependable. Typical maintenance issue you have with any car...change brake pads, tires, oil (no surprise) but never any big problems. Two items replaced under warranty...no big deal.

Great Buy - 2005 Kia Sorento
By Computer Man - September 15 - 1:03 pmThis is a great looking car and a great buy. I bought mine for $21,500. It is an EX with cloth. Great pickup and a pretty good ride. Has the look of a Lexus 330 but for $12-14K less. Ride is about 85% of a 330. But what do you expect for less money.

Excellent but - 2005 Kia Sorento
By HN - September 8 - 6:16 pmI am so pleased with my Kia Sorento EX 05 model performance and off road experience have exceeded my expectations. Only one thing that I am not impressed about which is the frequent transmission glitches & the internal dashboard noises.

Bulb Replacement II - 2005 Kia Sorento
By Andy - August 21 - 8:13 amI stopped counting the number of headlight & taillights Ive replaced. Ive had several warranty repairs and each one was a LONG wait for parts to come in from overseas. One dealership I took it to did every thing but roll out the red carpet. Unfortunately, the one I purchased it from, which is 50 miles closer to me, has not been so accommodating. For the money, I have no regrets. But I will stay away from Kia in the future due to the servicing of their warranty.

Good deal - 2005 Kia Sorento
By nickppatel - June 1 - 3:10 pmWife and I just purchased our Sorento EX AWD w/ luxury package and ABS. Had to trade in our Infiniti FX 35 for something less expensive on account of a new member of the family on the way. Make no mistake - this is NOT a Lexus, Infiniti or Acura. It IS, however, an excellent value and hands-down is the best bang for your buck. The ride is very smooth, although the steering is a bit unstable - it feels like if you were going fast enough and you cornered sharp enough, youd roll over. The interior materials are top-notch - I love the wood grain trim against the leather. We negotiated a good deal on the price - $23,700 walk out including ALL fees, etc.

My charcoal love - 2005 Kia Sorento
By silkyt673 - March 14 - 6:06 pmI love this car. I have had it for two years and have not had one problem with it. Its versatile. I take it camping and sleep in the back. My father whos 62" and 340 fits comfortably in the back seat. There is nothing bad about this vehicle. I had a Toyota for 10 years prior to this vehicle and so far this one is just as reliable and comfortable.
