Pros:
  • Great value, long list of standard features, high-quality interior materials, solid construction, true off-road capability, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Mediocre fuel economy, harsh ride over sharp bumps.

I am so pleased with my Kia Sorento EX 05 model performance and off road experience have exceeded my expectations. Only one thing that I am not impressed about which is the frequent transmission glitches & the internal dashboard noises.

I stopped counting the number of headlight & taillights Ive replaced. Ive had several warranty repairs and each one was a LONG wait for parts to come in from overseas. One dealership I took it to did every thing but roll out the red carpet. Unfortunately, the one I purchased it from, which is 50 miles closer to me, has not been so accommodating. For the money, I have no regrets. But I will stay away from Kia in the future due to the servicing of their warranty.

  • first new vehicle in 40 years - 2005 Kia Sorento

As an avid auto enthusiast building race cars and street rods, I always bought used and altered to what I wanted. Getting older now so I wanted a vehicle I wouldnt have to work on. After inspecting workmanship and seeing warranty I decided this was vehicle worth my money. Can be driven anywhere at any time with no worries. Vehicle has a sporty feel with a little more road feedback that I find important in a vehicle. Being driven daily and handles well.

  • Love it!! - 2005 Kia Sorento

This is our third Kia. Weve always been happy with the company, the customer service, the warranties, and most of all, the cars. We had a Sephia, then a Spectra. We decided to look into getting an SUV because we are both musicians, and have a lot of musical equipment that were constantly hauling here & there. I did a lot of research regarding this decision. Even though we loved Kia, I wanted to make sure we were getting an SUV that we could feel safe in, and that wed be happy in for a long time. The Sorento had every feature we couldve imagined!! Everything is so unnecessarily lavish - I feel so rich just sitting in it! The woodgrain detailing looks so nice, and it is SO roomy!

  • Good deal - 2005 Kia Sorento

Wife and I just purchased our Sorento EX AWD w/ luxury package and ABS. Had to trade in our Infiniti FX 35 for something less expensive on account of a new member of the family on the way. Make no mistake - this is NOT a Lexus, Infiniti or Acura. It IS, however, an excellent value and hands-down is the best bang for your buck. The ride is very smooth, although the steering is a bit unstable - it feels like if you were going fast enough and you cornered sharp enough, youd roll over. The interior materials are top-notch - I love the wood grain trim against the leather. We negotiated a good deal on the price - $23,700 walk out including ALL fees, etc.

  • long drive & snow it still gets me there - 2005 Kia Sorento

I got my kia sorento just this November. It had 70,000 miles on it but with good history. It was well maintained. I drove it from Indiana to upstate NY. With all 6 luggage I cant say anything bad against this car. Now am testing it on snow so far so good. What I have to agree on kia said they will void my warranty because, Im the second owner. What a reason! 100,000 miles of warranty is still 100,000 miles of warranty.

I looked at several different Mid Size SUVs including Ford, Mazda and Nissan. Of all the models I looked at the Sorento was the only one that had all the features I was looking for.

  • I am sure I will buy another Kia in 2007 - 2005 Kia Sorento

I love this SUV. It handles better than my Blazer Extreme did. And it has a lot more room. It is a beautiful SUV. It has good pickup and gets about 20 miles or more to the gallon -- for this big of an SUV that is great. The seats are comfortable and the ride is excellent. I plan to buy another one in a few years. I also test drove a Chevy Blazer and bought the KIA because of the way it drove and handled.

  • My charcoal love - 2005 Kia Sorento

I love this car. I have had it for two years and have not had one problem with it. Its versatile. I take it camping and sleep in the back. My father whos 62" and 340 fits comfortably in the back seat. There is nothing bad about this vehicle. I had a Toyota for 10 years prior to this vehicle and so far this one is just as reliable and comfortable.

I absolutely fell in love with my car the minute I drove it off the lot. I have told everyone I know to run right out and buy one. Unfortunately my car is horrible in the winter weather. There is absolutely no traction against snow and ice. The added traction button is a false hope as well. I recently had it in for new tires and even the mechanic said its not the tires, its the car itself. I hope that in the near future a 4x4 will handle the snow better because I would like to buy another one when my lease is up. But I am highly against anyone getting a 2wd unless you live in warm sunny weather 24-7.
