Overview & Reviews
From the ground up, this is a completely new sport sedan based on the new Ford midsize platform. Lincoln worked with Jaguar to develop this platform, which is also used for Lincoln's LS sedan.
- High-tech features, practical design, classic styling.
- Has to prove its more than a rebadged, overpriced Lincoln LS.

$60,000. Hunk o JUNK - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By anyjoe - November 23 - 1:16 amI have owned about 15 cars since I was 16 years old. The Jaguar was purchased new for $60k. It needed internal engine work @ 8K mi, 12K, 20K and 50Kmi. When I got it home from the last engine overhaul ($1800) the radiator started leaking. After that the transmission staarted downshifting on the freeway. At 60,000 mi I had to dump it. It was a VERY expensive mistake. DO NOT BUY ONE.

2000 S-Type - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Danny - July 21 - 11:56 amI purchased this 2000 S-Type from a private owner just last month. It is white, with chrome rims and 45 series tires, with an after market mesh grill. This car gets so many compliments. Mechanically the car is excellent, the ride is great, the style is one of a kind.

Great Car - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Joe 1667 - May 28 - 10:00 amI Own a BMW also. This car is more logical in interior design. My new X-5 died on me only after 6 months.I have had no problems with the S-Type.Much better Navigation and A/C controls then the BMW.Ride is comparable to the BMW.I will admit that the BMW feels faster and has a sportier ride.

Going to the Lexus Dealer - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By deecee - May 22 - 10:00 amBeautiful looking car but not reliable. New transmission required after one year; rear view mirror fell off after one month! Drivers door nearly fell off; now I cant open trunk without pushing down on it. Terrible, Terrible customer service at Towne & Countree in Indiana. While waiting 3 weeks for transmission replacement, I was given an Enterprise Rental car, truly an insult. Requested a $10 upgrade for rental car during my $700 30K maintenance service, and service manager denied it!! Jaguar International was no help either.

Didnt see this one coming - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Dawn - April 23 - 4:10 pmWhat can I say; buy the car on a Monday and have over $3,000 in repairs before the weekend. The bleeding doesnt stop there. Make the monthly payment and triple that for repairs. Has been that way for over a year now. Been paying $9 per lug nut, $1000 for a starter w/o installation, just lose the key, or have the hood ornament taken. The leather fades in color, the sun roof sticks, and the car only starts when it feels like it. Doesnt drive well at all in any amount of snow. It stays at home, it wont move! My dream is my worst nightmare. Anyone can afford to buy a Jag, but not many can afford to keep one. The parts are dealer only, no aftermarket, and are about 400% more. Sad!

Terrible Car - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Hulloimadam - April 23 - 2:26 amWe bought this car a while ago for around 56K... We sold it for 12k. The worst car every owned by far. Dont get me wrong its beautiful but other than that it stinks. We now have a mercedes s class thats 837264517635 times better than this car. Lets face it... THE BRITISH CANNOT MAKE CARS!!! Oh! and we had a whopping five trannys in it and it spews blue smoke!!!

Still Lovin My JAG - 2000 Jaguar S-Type
By Dee - December 10 - 1:13 pmI bought this Jaguar brand new when the commercials first appeared on tv. I traded a brand new Lexus SUV with less than 4000 miles for this classic, sleek and gorgeously styled "Cat". Needless to say it was love at first sight. There have been very few mechanical problems (none which have kept me from enjoying the great performance of this car). And I can honestly say I have enjoyed the ride.
