Buyers Remorse - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By G. A. Arce - October 8 - 6:01 pmI bought two brand new Honda vehicles within the past 6 months. The first one was a Pilot AWD EX-L and the 2nd one the 2018 Honda Odyssey. The Odyssey has been a disappointment. The infotainment is glitchy sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. The rear doors may not completely close and may require several attempts to get them to close. The front seats are harsh and uncomfortable. The seats on the Pilot are more comfortable. Acceleration in the Honda Odyssey is lackluster, I just can feel any the power. The Pilot is quirky even on ECCO mode. Forget about using ECCO mode on the Odyssey. The ACL is a pain and have caused some near misses like suddenly braking when trying to change a lane at freeway speeds. It also lacks enough USB ports and the gap in the middle console is hideous. I am not a fan of the push button transmission and emergency breaks. I would rather have then in the foot area. I should have bought another Honda Pilot instead of this land yacht.

Junior styling for a mature vehicle - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By Leonard - February 8 - 4:44 pmHonda has been able to maintain their sale figure but my feeling is it could have been much better. What are they thinking with their styling. It is ugly, disjointed, disorganized (the top crease line end up in nowhere in the rear quarter panel. It should have joined with the crease on the rear quarter panel over the fuel filler door). I feel offended because they dont seem to treat their Odyssey customers too seriously. This is like putting an experiment, a design exercise into a mature segment. If the designers were serious then they would give this design to the Acure line too. I dare them to see what kind of effect this would have on the sale figure of their Acura line! I am owning a 2001 Odyssey and love the design up until 2010 model. The lightning bolt was bad but somewhat tolerable but the 2018 is the worst. The placement of their vents in the second and third rows also killed the deal. I am holding back on my minivan replacement for a couple more years to see if Honda is getting serious about making a sensible design again; otherwise Toyota here I come.

Go for Touring - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By Sunil S - January 3 - 11:44 pmWe bought 2018 Honda Odyssey Touring as we are ready to welcome our first child! After reading the review by one of the owner that EX-L drive is noisy I compared both EXL and Touring and really agree with her that I found Touring quieter and much better drive! If you want better drive and can spend few thousands more go for Touring or all the way to Elite if you want cooling/AC for front seats. So far we are enjoying the ride and safety features (Honda Sensing) that comes with it. We faced Bluetooth, remote starter issues that were fixed by dealer. They said it was some system issue. Wish you the best in your family car hunt! I do recommend Honda Odyssey but higher trim if you want better and quieter drive!

Do not buy this... - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By BS - December 13 - 5:51 pmI have 3 small children and wanted a reliable family car. After leading this car for almost 2.5 months Ive learned it is not family friendly. 1.). Young children cannot strap themselves into their car seats, therefore you have to climb into the van. The drivers side has a hard plastic board on the floor so it bruises my knees daily. The passenger side has a narrow path to secure the right rear seat which again you have to climb into the van to do. 2.). So far the following systems have failed or have no fix: rear climate control screen sporadically goes blank; rear speakers are not an option for the radio; anti-theft system alarms & rear cabin control failures are received at random; there is no menu screen for rear entertainment options so you have to use the remote & reach backwards over your head to select a DVD option; the idlestop no longer works. 3.). When calls or text messages come into your phone when connected to CarPlay it disables the rear entertainment and radio, however if you decline to read or answer, it doesnt turn the systems back on. 4.). If you have an iPhone the charging pad doesnt work, the CarPlay system doesnt work unless you buy a separate $50 cable. The HMDI plug is located in the most inaccessible location for a driver or front seat passenger. Overall this car misses the mark on design, electronics & being user friendly.

Ten Cu Ft Less than my 2008 Odyssey - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By Mert Horne - May 10 - 9:06 pmThe second row seats are on a dolly of sorts that can not be removed. It is no longer wide enough for a 4X8 sheet of plywood to fit without angling it. It has 10 cu ft less cargo carrying volume than my 2008 Odyssey. All of these are non-starters for me.

Love my Odyssey!! - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By James547 - April 1 - 1:01 amI owned a 2011 Toyota Sienna. It started having too many problems for me to justify keeping it, especially considering its only 6 years old. I had to replace both sliding door motors, drivers door lock, front and rear rotors, several small engine repairs ($870 worth). I test drove both the Chrysler Pacifica and Odyssey. The Odyssey won, hands down. The PacificaStinky styling was too funny for me, some of the interior materials seemed very cheaply made, and the rear seats and head room were pathetic, along with the infotainment system. I picked up my 2018 Odyssey Touring last week. So far, owning it has been an absolute joy. The features I love most is the way it drives. Its quick, very responsive, and the steering feel and control is amazing. It drives much more like a car or sporty SUV than a van, certainly tons better than the Sienna. I rides so well, too. The seats are amazing for me, a 197 lb. 6.0 ft. tall guy, and a good amount of headroom, even in the second row! The rear seats are just as comfortable as the front, unlike the new Chrysler Pacifica that we also test drove. The rear seats were unbelievably uncomfortable in the Pacifica, most likely due to less padding for the seat to fit and fold down into the floor. Id much rather have comfortable seats that dont fold into the floor. The sliding second row seats are also incredible and useful. I have 2 kids and a wife, so usually the third row seat isnt occupied. But If it is, we still have plenty of room for cargo in the trunk!! The infotainment system is very quick and lag-free, also very unlike the sluggish Pacifica infotainment. We didnt get the Elite trim because we dont need the CabinWatch or CabinTalk feature, because my kids are grown. We chose the Touring trim over the EX-L mostly for the extra safety features. We love the features, especially LaneKeep Assist which definitely adds peace of mind while driving at night or when tired. I honestly have zero complaints with my van so far! If something comes up Ill definitely update my comment. If you want a fun to drive family hauler with impressive features, the Odyssey is for you. Definitely worth a test drive!!

Best choice of a Minivan since sliced bread - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By Ben L - November 28 - 8:19 amChrysler may have invented the Minivan, but Honda has perfected the design. As a male driver who loves vans, i find it a purchase worth every penny. The new design for 2018 will grow on you mainly for the innovations and safety features. I regret not buying sooner but am grateful for the new model designed found in this van. There are some nice features worth spending the extra and I highly recommend the EX-L model. All others pales in comparison. Whether to upgrade to the Touring or Elite is a matter of personal choice, but the moving up from the base model of the LX to the EX or EX-L is worth looking into.

Good car with few kinks - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By DJ - July 19 - 7:16 amReally like the Odyssey, it drive more like a car than a minivan. Only complaint is that the Climate Control cannot be in Auto mode while Recirculate is on. As a result have to choose between climate control and recirculate. If I choose the former, exhaust fumes enter the cabin, if I choose the latter, the glass fogs up. Also, the USB Audio can only read drives upto 16GB! Other than that, been happy with the vehicle.

Uncomfortable seats - 2018 Honda Odyssey
By Dave - June 27 - 12:27 pmVery close to purchasing the 2018 Honda Odyssey but opted for the Sienna instead. Generally, I like the latest tech (Odyssey has Apple Play but Sienna does not) ... interestingly however, I actually prefer the knob transmission handle (and round A/C knob) on the Sienna instead of the transmission buttons on the 2018 Odyssey. One of our best friends bought the 2018 Odyssey EX-L and loves it (although GPS didnt work properly to get the right destination). I was disappointed that the 2018 Odyssey A/C vents for the 2nd/3rd row seats are on the side of the vehicle (bad for hot weather days) instead of the ceiling like the Sienna. Nevertheless, I still would have purchased the 2018 Odyssey but the one thing that killed the purchase were the UNCOMFORTABLE seats. I was willing to upgrade (spend more) getting the Elite because it had perforated seats in the 1st/2nd rows which offers a bit more cushion but still nowhere as comfortable as the Sienna seating. I sat in the 2nd row of my best friends 2018 Odyssey EX-L during a ride ... and seating felt so uncomfortable (too hard) that I actually disliked the whole ride experience - it seems to be a bit more noisy than the Sienna ride too. In all fairness, the Elite does have ventilated seats as standard in the front seats which the Sienna does not have.
