Thoughts on Trac - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
By Mr. Wilson - December 4 - 10:00 amI really like this vehicle. Its comparatively well appointed for the price. Its comfortable and fun to drive. The bed offers a number of hauling options with the tonneau cover (which creates a fully lockable water tight "trunk") and the bed extender. The Trac isnt as huge as some of its competitors; therefore, it fits neatly in the garage. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who needs to have the ability to haul cargo and people. I read a review on Edmunds.com suggesting that the vehicle vibrates at highway speeds. I have not been able to reproduce this issue in vehicles I test drove or in the one I purchased.

Best Truck Period - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
By Shermstix - September 15 - 2:00 amThis Vehicle is amazing. It is basically the Explorer SUV with a cut out for a composite bed. Smooth ride coupled with a luxurious interior make this "Truck" feel as if you were driving a Lincoln. I would recommed it to anyone who has a family but still needs to haul large items like when you are landscaping. Plus it is Ford tough!!

03 ST XLT Premium is a solid SUT - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
By Marc99GT - June 11 - 10:00 amMy wife and I purchased our first 03 ST 8/1/03. It now has just over 300 miles and it is a nice comfortible ride. The truck feels solid and smooth. It moves fairly well getting onto the highway and the rear A/C controls are a huge plus. The power rear center window is very cool & the 285 watt stereo sounds very good.

Get this truck - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
By rookie - May 21 - 12:13 amIve had this truck for 2 weeks. I bought used with 96,000 miles as my first vehicle and Ive put over 200 miles on it already just having fun in it. When I bought it it needed a new rack and pinion and new rear axle hose which the dealer replaced for free. Other than that it has nothing wrong with it. I love the truck so much and would recomend it to anyone. I just wish the outside looked a little more eye catching but the newer ones do

Vibration Warning - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
By WhitewaterTrac - February 20 - 10:00 amThe vehicle develops a vibration around 60 mph that is present from there up in speed. The vehicle has been looked at by two different dealerships, both of whom have stated that ALL Sport Tracs do this. Multiple balances and rotations performed on this vehicle at multiple shops have not removed this vibration. New tires were installed and the vibration still exists. Ford Customer Service agrees that this exists on all Sport Tracs they produce. Please be very cautious when buying this vehicle. If you plan on doing primarily highway driving on smooth surfaces above 60 MPH I would suggest a different vehicle.

By KELLY - January 14 - 2:13 amBought it New and it has been a headache. Door locks lock when I turn the ignition on when it is cold out,key does not turn in door or rear door when it is cold . Doors all freeze and i have to pry them open with a chisel. Compass does not work, shows a different direction every day even though it is parked in the same spot. Fuel gauge shows full then suddenley drops to 1/2 tank, not accurate at all and clock will not stay set. Tires lose 10 lbs of air a week and now the alternator is bad at 15,000 miles. Runs real rough and shaky when I first start it. Tailgate door falls off if you dont hold it real tight and carefully open . Parking lightbulbs keep burning out and have to be
