  When my lease ended on myu Mercedes back in 1999, some I work with recommended I go see the S80 by Volvo. Id never owned a Volvo before in my life but I said, sure Ill check them out. Im sure glad I did. My Volvo now has about 80k and runs like thee day I drove it off the lot. This car has been low maintenance and especially trouble free. I had it on a lease but recenttly refinanced it. I will not sell this car. Its been the best and most reliable car I have ever owned!

  I have a silver 1999 Volvo S80. I did a lot of research before buying this vehicle. I have now owned it for about four years and am very satisfied. For the money, this car outperforms everything in its class. My Volvo has been extremely reliable and a pleasure to own. Since buying my S80, I actually look forward to driving. The S80 is a fantastic choice. Very reliable!

  I so looked forward to owning a Volvo. I found what I thought to be a great deal on their flagship. The deal and the car are crap. I will never purchase from Akin or another Volvo. I have spent over $4.0 after I purchased. I now have so much invested I cant sell. I am just waiting for the $7.0 transmission to fall out.

  Happy for those of you who love your S80, this car has been a nightmare for me. It would be fun to drive, except for anticipating the next expensive repair. The car has been in the shop regularly since new, even had to replace the gas tank (of course, 5K miles AFTER warranty expired). Repeated calls and emails over the years to Volvo NA and dealer regarding quality issues have gone unanswered. I will NEVER buy another Volvo, and tell anyone who will listen about my bad experience(s). A shame, because I was really excited about Volvo when I first purchased this car.

  RUN AWAY!!!! - 1999 Volvo S80

  Have had to replace the ABS master control system, the fan for the AC, the compressor, and the power-steering reservoir. Auto-dimming rearview mirror blew a seal and costs $530+ to replace, (luckily it still reflects so no-go there), I have had to replace a broken headlight at $300+, AND the dealership could not figure out why the car would not start and they had the car for OVER ONE MONTH!!! Volvo does not allow the computers need to repair the car to independent auto shops, so you are forced to utilize their INCOMPETENT mechanics at their dealership.well boys & girls, they cannot fix their own cars. RUN FAR, FAR AWAY!!

  My 1999 S80 T6 is a fun car to drive and is ultra safe. I have had no problems whatsoever and would highly recommednd it to anyone.

  I bought my T6 a couple years ago and now have 68,000 miles on it. It has been a total joy to own. I did have one problem when I first bought it but that was it. The dealer did upgrade the cars software and like I said, its been a joy. Pretty much trouble free. No complaints at all. I recommend this car very highly!

  Its Wonderful - 1999 Volvo S80

  Ive owned my 1999 S80 for about four years now. It has been wonderful. Definately the most enjoyable car Ive ever owned. For those of you who have had troble with yours, let me help you..... you just need to get the free software upgrade that Volvo released. The dealer does it for free. I too had some problems the first year but after the new software, not a single issue. Thats all you need! You only need to have them do it once and its there for good! This is really a great car to own!

  Let me start by saying I love luxury sedans. Over the years Ive owned Mercedes, Jaguar, Bmws, but never a Volvo. In April 1999 I decided to check out the S80. I went to the Volvo dealer and worked with Todd, an outstanding sales professional. I had no intention of purchasing the car but before it was all over, I bought. Ive had my 1999 S80 T6 now for about three and a half years. This is the best luxury car I have ever owned. It has been trouble free during ownership. It will be paid off soon and Im keeping this one. I recommend the 1999 S80 T6 to everyone. Very reliable and such a nice car to ride in.
