A few changes occur on the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. Good news for consumers: VW has lowered the car's price by an average of $1,400 without making any significant cuts in feature content. The company says the change is to foster increased competitiveness against Asian-brand sedans. On the downside, the popular diesel-fueled Jetta TDI has been discontinued due to its inability to pass new 2007 government emissions tests. Look for it to return next year. Other updates for the '07 Jetta include the return of the Wolfsburg Edition sedan (which has the 2.5-liter engine and standard leatherette upholstery), a new Apple iPod adapter, simplified cruise control actuation, a standard tire-pressure monitor and, as options, a 115-volt power outlet and Homelink transmitter. Finally, VW has renamed the base-level Value Edition trim level just "Jetta."

Fell in Love after the first ride - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By ehollander - October 3 - 6:35 amI bought it in 2010 as a certified used car with 40K miles on it, and I need to say it is a blast to drive it everyday, I drove many cars before from Olds to Ford, Toyota and Chrysler but none kept me interested in keeping the car longer then 2 years. But this one is the best in quality fabrication, interior space quality and ride pleasure. I averaged about 30MPG before I changed my tires and had an allingment done now with the new ecopias it is even better new avg is 33-34 MPG and the cabin is so quiet. Also after 35k miles driven now no problems not even the rear breaks, but the dealer told me I would need to replace them after about 40K miles. I LOVE THE JETTA.

Brakes Need Work - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By CJ - August 1 - 7:20 amAs I read through the reviews, I agree with the brake issue. I had to replace my rear left brake system completely at about 10K miles. The rear caliber seized and wore down my pads and bent the rotors. I am now close to 18K and having another brake issue. I have had 2 other cars of which I put well over 100K each and did not run into this problem. If it were not for this problem, I would say the car is great. Awesome handling and great pickup. Very comfortable on long road trips. Just fix the brake issue!

Better than expected - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By MAJikMARCer - July 31 - 1:33 amThis is my third VW and my second GLI and it has not disappointed. I love the car and even the bright yellow color (though it wasnt my first choice). One of the other reviewers (a fellow Nebraskan) had trouble in the snow. I have not. I bought snow tires for the winter and didnt have any trouble at all. The DSG transmission would get stuck when first starting out in very cold temperatures, but otherwise no mechanical problems at all.

REAR BRAKE ISSUE - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By ron langdon jr - July 18 - 2:50 pmBought this car when I retired. Overall nice car for its class. Enjoy driving. The 30m oil change & service was about $300. Wifes Volvo was about same cost. Dealer note on bill, "needed to have rear brake job done est $300 to $350. Ive owned many cars in my life,never remember having a brake job on any. Not happy with this.

A pretty good car so far.. - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Roger2Texas - June 21 - 7:26 pmPurchased this 07 Jetta 2.5L 5cyl 2 yrs ago brand new, has been a very good car, handles great on highway. Have had to replace the gas tank door on warranty. The bad thing is I have to buy the Catrol full synthetic oil at AutoZone along with filter for local mechanic to change the oil. Love the 10k mile oil change intervals. This car has been A++ excellent compared to our old 2003 Passat which was a nightmare (since assembled in Germany, compared to the Passat in Mexico). Car is very sporty & sometimes catches peoples eye.

My First "New" Car... - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Greg - June 6 - 8:26 amThis is my first "new" car. I also own a 1965 El Camino, and have been looking at new cars for three main reasons: 1) safety, 2) comfort, 3) gas mileage. This car was the only one that I was looking at in the $20,000 range that had full side curtain airbags for the driver, passenger, and rear seats. The bucket seats are very comfortable for long driving periods, and the cars estimated gas mileage is 22-30 mpg, though I find myself getting about 24-26 mpg on regular-unleaded. This is not my dream car, but for a college student who has a shallow wallet the price for what your getting is defiantly superior to comparable models.

Loving the New Jetta - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

The biggest reason I bought a Jetta again was for their safety record, as I was recently in a head on car crash (I was in a Jeep Liberty).

2007 Jetta Wolfsburg 5-speed - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Larry - May 24 - 3:00 amThis car has excellent fit and finish with upscale materials. The poor mans BMW is back with Class. Our other car is a Chrysler 300 and the Jetta has a smoother, quieter ride. We went with the 5-speed for the sports sedan fun, but the auto transmission with sports shift was a strong contender. The exterior styling is a little bland, our neighbor thought it was a Corolla and it reminds me of an old Altima. It has a smooth shift, but the quiet engine makes it easy to stall. Ironic huh? The multi-adjustable console/armrest is great. So far I would choose this car all over again.

My Baby Girl - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Ben Cooper - May 6 - 8:20 amSince my husband has purchased my 2007 Jetta, it has been the best experience I have had. This care is the compact and fast. The take off is awesome.I drive to and from work which is about 13 miles. Its the smoothest ride for such a small car. After having it for two years I will trade it in for another VW Passat.
