A few changes occur on the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. Good news for consumers: VW has lowered the car's price by an average of $1,400 without making any significant cuts in feature content. The company says the change is to foster increased competitiveness against Asian-brand sedans. On the downside, the popular diesel-fueled Jetta TDI has been discontinued due to its inability to pass new 2007 government emissions tests. Look for it to return next year. Other updates for the '07 Jetta include the return of the Wolfsburg Edition sedan (which has the 2.5-liter engine and standard leatherette upholstery), a new Apple iPod adapter, simplified cruise control actuation, a standard tire-pressure monitor and, as options, a 115-volt power outlet and Homelink transmitter. Finally, VW has renamed the base-level Value Edition trim level just "Jetta."

Pretty Nice Car - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By JesseJ - June 19 - 12:50 amI purchased a 2007 VW Jetta 2.5L. I like the looks of the Jetta from the outside more than I do the inside. Overall, it is nice and fun to drive. It is a good vehicle for the money. I didnt look at any other car except for the Honda Civic, but didnt like its new body.

Easily the best car in its class - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By homerkc - May 30 - 11:09 pmJust turned 75K miles; a GREAT car for the past 5 yrs. Its economical (23-31mpg), sufficiently fast, rides better on the highway than cars costing much more, big trunk, and top safety ratings. Its a pleasure to drive every day, and its just a base model car with the 150 HP engine. I had the rear brake problem, but my dealer put new rotors on under warranty and everything seems to be OK. Ive put little else into the car - I do much of the routine maintenance myself, and without the dealer labor, the upkeep is reasonable. I enjoy the little luxuries on the base car, like soft touch plastics, lighted switches, climate control, 1 touch windows, etc. A great deal and reliable, too.

By Jetta Family - March 31 - 3:46 pmWe have owned five Jettas. Our new Wolfsburg may be the best one yet. If you dont like the European ride and handling, do not buy one. The Wolfsburg is absolutely the best buy for the money. I dont know who evaluates vehicles for J.D. Power but they really have this "thing" for Japanese cars. Testing a car is almost totally subjective, the Power folks should have an open mind, not an empty one.

I love how it drives and it is easy to handle. This is the first new car Ive ever bought and its great. So far its been a reliable, low maintenance car!

One Year Later... - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Aaron Lozano - January 22 - 8:20 pmI drive a lot. On average, I spend about 50 minutes in my car daily. Im currently at 25,000 miles on my 06 Jetta. Its been a year since I purchased my spice red Volkswagen Jetta and Im still very pleased with my decision. Although it was not my first choice, I find it to be a beautiful car that is strong and enjoyable. On a separate note, the dealership is not as helpful. It is the only dealership that offers Jettas in my area, so I have no choice. The service department has been very rude to me on one issue. Still, overall I love my car. ;)

I just got hit by someone doing 50 mph.. - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Scarlett - October 24 - 3:16 pmI have had this car for just under a year and just got hit today by a unattentive driver doing 50 mph. I and my car are going to survive. How many small cars can you say that about? I love this car - people complain about engine noise but its not bad and the stereo system has a function to get louder (subtlely) as the speed increases so I never notice it. It is safe, stylish, fun to drive, and reliable. I havent had any problems and after today when my car was being towed away to the body shop I realized that I love it even more now that I know it really does keep me safe. I would recommend this car to anyone and I love that VW took the initiative to make safety standard.

Best of Fourteen - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By camperjimmy - October 5 - 10:23 pmI test drove fourteen different new cars during my search for the best value, including the new Rabbit, it was not for me(age thing). The salesman had a Jetta waiting for me when I got back, and WOW, of the fourteen, the Jetta was the only one that made me say "WOW, thats a nice car." There is lots of ho-hum vehicles out there, but this car is a blast to drive, has lot of room, and I get 29 mpg with the smooth 6-speed auto. I am very satisfied with this car and will buy another for my wife..
