This Year's Model Updates:

A few changes occur on the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. Good news for consumers: VW has lowered the car's price by an average of $1,400 without making any significant cuts in feature content. The company says the change is to foster increased competitiveness against Asian-brand sedans. On the downside, the popular diesel-fueled Jetta TDI has been discontinued due to its inability to pass new 2007 government emissions tests. Look for it to return next year. Other updates for the '07 Jetta include the return of the Wolfsburg Edition sedan (which has the 2.5-liter engine and standard leatherette upholstery), a new Apple iPod adapter, simplified cruise control actuation, a standard tire-pressure monitor and, as options, a 115-volt power outlet and Homelink transmitter. Finally, VW has renamed the base-level Value Edition trim level just "Jetta."

  • LOVIN IT - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

I travel around 3,000 miles a month. Exceptionally comfortable ride. Great handling. MPG is ok. It is less than other cars in its class, but that is too be expected as it is a little heavier and built with safety in mind. So Ill exchange a few MPG for peace of mind with safety.

This is my first VW and I have to say that Im sold. Ive owned two Hondas and, while the gas mileage of the VW doesnt entirely measure up in the city, the comfort and drive quality more than make up for the lack of MPG. The first two weeks found me looking for reasons to drive somewhere. Took it on a long trip and loved every minute of it. So many little conveniences that I would have never thought of but have come to love (who thought to put a grocery bag hook in the trunk?) As I said, with the exception of the MPG in the city, Im head over heels in love with this car. Only had 26k on it when I bought it and it feels like a brand new car!

I just purchased my VW Jetta. It is the closest to a BMW I will get for a while and so far I love it. It is fun to drive and has tons of features, I am finding new features everyday. So far I love this car. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a reasonably priced sedan with lots of features.

  • I Love this Car! - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

This is really a great car - it is fun to drive, has a very smooth ride, and handles turns and corners very well. It picks up speed very fast and the Tiptronic transmission is great for people who like to drive. I am very impressed that Volkswagen has taken the initiative to make so many safety features standard and my insurance went DOWN after purchasing a brand new car. It is great - I love the styling and its just a lot of fun.

I have a 2009 Jetta as a company car, which I drive daily. Needed a car for my college daughter, and she liked my Jetta, so we found a 2007 white Jetta with automatic and sunroof. Car is as much fun to drive, as tight a body, taught steering and suspension as my 2009. The 2007 has 49,000 miles compared to the 2009 with 24,000 miles. Great cars that make you want to drive them all the time! Have taken my 2009 on road trips up to 7-8 hours for business purposes, as never tired, my back does not ache, and still in a good mood when I arrive!

  • Best car Ive ever owned - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

I have a black over tan Wolfsburg. The color combo just pops and looks classy. The interior textures and materials are the same quality as my previous Mercedes. Its got all the fun stuff like heated seats, mirrors and washer nozzles, ESP, traction control, 6 airbags, Tiptronic sunroof and more. I havent been able to lose control of the car even when I try. Feels solid and safe and looks great. There is no other car out there for the price with the quality and features you get... not even close. I love this car, I hope the reliability is as solid as the way the doors shut.

  • A Happy, Classy Car - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

Overall I am in love with this car. The exterior styling is attractive without being excessively flashy, the interior is well thought out and welcoming. The steering is excellent, and dont be fooled by the 150 hp; the torque more than makes up for it and gives plenty of passing power. This car has a very solid feel for such a little thing. My only disappointment with the Jetta is its gas mileage. Ive observed about 21/25, which is a bit inferior to other cars like the Civic or the Accord. Overall I am more than willing to make this trade off since I see a billion Hondas on the road every day, which makes me feel a bit more unique in my happy-looking Jetta. :)

  • You can tell it is a german car! - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

After test driving some Japanese makes (you can imagine which ones), I finally made it to the VW dealer, and it felt like I had been driving go- karts all day! This felt so solid and drove so well. I loved the tiptronic transmission and the VW signature blue and red display on the dashboard! The mileage this car gives is also very respectable. This was the last car I test drove. The 66" salesman opened the drivers door wide open when we got back to the dealer, hung himself from the door for about 7 seconds, and then closed the door. It closed as if nothing had happened. He looked at me, smiled and said: "Do not try this on a Japanese!" I thought this was a funny remark. I love my Jetta!!!

  • Didnt want to buy it - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

I did not want to buy a VW, but my husband convinced me to drive the 2 liter turbo (the 2 liter non-turbo was a joke). 3 years and 97,000 miles later, I am very happy with the Jetta. Its economical to drive(I average 28mpg overall), yet has plenty of horsepower when I need to pass. The interior is well fitted and has held up very well to daily use - car seats, grand kids et cetera. Trunk is spacious and fold-down seats very useful. Very quiet to drive and very reliable. Its a fun car to operate and has had no mechanical issues so far.

  • Excellent car! - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta

We just bought a base Jetta with 6 speed automatic transmission and love it. Good throttle response and decent power from the 2.5 liter five cylinder engine/6-speed automatic transmission combo. No problem issues to report and the best highway fuel mileage so far has been 33.6 mpg keeping a steady 70 mph. At around 80 mph, the mileage is consistently 29-30 mpg. Weve been averaging 22-25 mpg around town. We drove a lot of cars before settling on the Jetta for its cost, features, safety, comfort, and handling. The handling is perfectly stable at 80 mph on the interstate and yet nimble in town. Nothing else came close.
