For 2004, all Jetta models get an updated look, optional telematics and a new and more powerful 1.9-liter TDI engine (GL and GLS models only). The 2.0-liter engine is now PZEV-rated, and the GLX trim is no longer available. Also note that you can no longer get the 1.8T engine in GL trim. Besides that, the GLI sedan sports new 17-inch alloy wheels and the Cold Weather Package items (heated seats and washer nozzles) as standard, while the GLS features a standard Monsoon stereo. The wagons get a revised instrument cluster late in the model year, and the sedans get new metallic trim rings around the gauges.

  This is not your usual Jetta. The new GLI is a performer. With its true lowered suspension, 18” BBS wheels and aggressive looks, it’s sure to turn heads everywhere. The New GLI is what VW should have been in the beginning. I owned a 2002 Jetta GLS 1.8T 5 speed Sport Package, let me tell you guys and gals out there thinking of getting a GLI 1.8T. The new GLI 1.8T is like a night and day difference. Since supposedly this is the last year of the MK4 body style, I hope VW has repaired all the bugs. I’m for sure going to enjoy my New GLI 1.8T, thanks VW for finally listening to us.

  We recently moved out of the city and were looking to reduce our monthly gas bill. We test drove a Jetta TDI and were immedieatly impressed with how solid the car was. The interior was well appointed and the ride comfortable. The mileage was what sold us ulimately!

  I did experience a few problems in the first few months of ownership ranging from having to change the drivers seat cover to a few rattels all of which were fixed in a timely manner. Other wise Great car.

  I used to be a proud Honda owner until I feasted my eyes on this piece of German engineering. Absolutely beautiful to look at, my GLI is extremely comfortable and fun to drive. Its interior design is like no other car I had previously experienced; its a drfferent kind of "sturdy" quality. The way the car is built is similar only to other German automobiles like BMW or Audi. Im sold on Volkswagen quality and I definetely recommend everyone test drive one. Youll love it!

  What more could you want in a $25,000 car? It has every option that is available for the Jetta and a custom interior. The ride and handling are superb. The 18" wheels add even more handling and style. The six speed transmission gives you torque and flexibility throughout the gears. The body kit is subtle but sets it apart from other Jettas. With minor modifications, this car can really scream and still get 30 mpg.

  Hot Ride - 2004 Volkswagen Jetta

  As a retired law enforcement officer, I find this the most awesome ride Ive been in. Its exilerating, solid, fast, and a drivers car. Not many cars are going to catch this one! Its lights are incredible for driving in critter country, the high desert, and so bright in fact I get flashed alot on low settings, no need for additional driving lamps. Catch me if you think you can! It,s great fun to blow by the ringy dingy young Honda, Neon crowd with their so called hot whatevers! Really looking forward to getting it on a track. If your in Oregon, go to Carrera motors in Bend, they are the best to deal with ever. See Mark Pulver.

  Reliable & Extrodinary transportation - 2004 Volkswagen Jetta

  Great overall performer. With the five speed and the turbo-diesel engine I can zip up and down the mountains of Colorado and still approach 50 MPG. Comfort, (I am 62" tall and have plenty of leg and head room), performance, handling this jetta with the GLS option has it all.

  VOLKSWAGEN HAS REALLY HIT THE SPOT WITH THIS CAR. I OWN ANOTHER JETTA, BUT THAT ONE CANNOT COMPARE TO THE GLI 1.8T! I WAS HAVING MY CAR SERVICED, AND I COULD NOT HELP BUT TO NOTICE THIS BLUE LAGOON JETTA. I SAID TO MYSELF I HAVE GOTTA BUY THAT CAR; AND I DID! I LOVE THE BLUE LAGOON EXTERIOR, IT IS DIFFERENT, AND THE CAR TURNS HEADS. I MEAN EVERYONE JUST LOOKS, BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING ELSE ON THE ROAD LIKE. I DO NOT DRIVE FAST, BUT IN THIS CAR YOU CANNOT HELP. WITH THE 1.8T ENGINE, IT JUST ZOOMS PAST PEOPLE WHO ARE DROOLING OVER THE CAR. (

  BOUGHT THIS AUTO FOR THE GAS MILEAGE, BUT COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR ANYTHING MORE! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! WHERE WERE THESE VWS ALL MY LIFE? WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING BUT A VW DIESEL AGAIN.
