For 2004, all Jetta models get an updated look, optional telematics and a new and more powerful 1.9-liter TDI engine (GL and GLS models only). The 2.0-liter engine is now PZEV-rated, and the GLX trim is no longer available. Also note that you can no longer get the 1.8T engine in GL trim. Besides that, the GLI sedan sports new 17-inch alloy wheels and the Cold Weather Package items (heated seats and washer nozzles) as standard, while the GLS features a standard Monsoon stereo. The wagons get a revised instrument cluster late in the model year, and the sedans get new metallic trim rings around the gauges.

  I have owned a Jetta for 3 years, first I owned a 2003 Wolfsburg Edition Jetta. I recently upgraded to a 2004 Jetta GLI 1.8T and loved them both. The old one was a nice car and very reliable, but the new one is unbelievable. I recommend you dont waste your money on a cheap Volkswagen and make sure to get one that is high quality.

  I just bought my jetta about 1 month ago and I am a VW customer for life. The ride is awesome and it is so comfortable. I got the sport package and 1.8T engine and they are perfect together. Moonroof is a must and the spoiler completes the package. If you want a safe car with a decent price get this.

  Haven t had this car too long but long enough to grow so accustomed to it... I have a friend whose a VW enthusiast and he told me how fun the little 1.8t is. Man was he right. Its a quick car with all the luxuries youll ever need. Near flawless interior and of course the exterior is gorgeous.. Beautiful all around. Im loving this car.

  We bought the Jetta with 25,000 miles and it has 65,000 now. The only repair was that we replaced the thermostat, otherwise it runs and drives great. Gas mileage is around 24 mpg mixed driving. The build quality is really good and the interior has a lot of room for a compact car. However, the transmission is acting up. It shifts hard and slips on occasion, which at only 65,000 miles is surprising.

  Ive had Hondas, Chryslers, Cadillacs and all three of the big three pickup trucks. I have never had a car as fun to drive as this. I commute 90 miles a day and never get tired of driving this car......Not a single problem in the first 9,000 miles

  This car has numerous standard features (for fun and safety). Take one for a test drive . . . it will sell itself. I got a baseline Jetta (only "options were spoiler and automatic transmission); but compared with other manufacturers I was considering (Honda, especially) Jetta standard features are considered "optional" by most others.

  My 3rd Jetta. GLI just put the fun back into the everyday, everywhere drive. Only concern is winter tires and low front spoiler. Lots of zip in the low rpm.

  I am very impresed about this car. me and my wife have been looking at cars for about 2 months. the car that we were sold on buying was the 325I BMW. than one day we passed the VW dealer so we pulled in. next thang I know we were driving it home. I have been more impreded with this car than I could have ever imagined. I have ownd cars from $15,000 to $45,000 and todate this has been the best car we have owned.
