Overview & Reviews
A few changes occur on the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. Good news for consumers: VW has lowered the car's price by an average of $1,400 without making any significant cuts in feature content. The company says the change is to foster increased competitiveness against Asian-brand sedans. On the downside, the popular diesel-fueled Jetta TDI has been discontinued due to its inability to pass new 2007 government emissions tests. Look for it to return next year. Other updates for the '07 Jetta include the return of the Wolfsburg Edition sedan (which has the 2.5-liter engine and standard leatherette upholstery), a new Apple iPod adapter, simplified cruise control actuation, a standard tire-pressure monitor and, as options, a 115-volt power outlet and Homelink transmitter. Finally, VW has renamed the base-level Value Edition trim level just "Jetta."

Great New VW - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By new Jetta - November 15 - 11:53 pmI just purchased my first VW Jetta and it rocks, the Wolfsburg Edition is really handy with the heated seats. At first I thought I had no reason to have them until I turned them on during a cold front. I tell you, you cant have leather seats without them. The same goes for the sunroof, at first I thought Ive never had one so who cares, but now that I have used it is a great option to have. Thanks VW for the hard work in creating and evolving the Jetta for todays environment.

VW not worth it!!! - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By richard - November 5 - 1:46 pmI have a 2007 VW Jetta and I have to say that I have had the worst experience possible with this car. I have had the fan replaced with in the first year of purchase, rear rotters and brake pads replaced (only at 43,000 which cost $400). I have had electrical problems with the vehicle numerous times. Had to take it in for repair when the transmission started slipping out of gear. For some strange reason the tires had issues holding pressure even though VW said nothing was wrong... but yet the tire pressure light kept coming on. The dealership gave me a list of what they call normal maintenance for 43,000 miles. Here it is: Pollen Filter, Gas Filter, Spark Plugs ect.ect. $2,000 total! Hate car

First time Vdub man - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Dave - October 11 - 11:20 amAfter several American and one Japanese car this is my first European sedan and so far I couldnt be happier. Handling is great city or highway driving. Steering makes parallel parking a breeze. While the acceleration off the line is average, passing on the highway is easy. You wont get the gas mileage of a Civic or Corolla, but the Jetta is not terrible either. Im getting about 29 mpg on the highway and with all the standard features and quality of the interior, Ill take the Jetta anyday.

What fun! - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By Kathyj311 - August 24 - 3:03 pmThis is my second Jetta & I doubt it will be my last! I have a 6 speed manual turbo & its a blast to drive. My avg cruising hwy speed is 80, its hard to drive the limit. Car turns heads & everyone enjoys driving it. BUT, the low nose is always a problem, be careful with curbs. My main problem right now is rusty brakes, had them turned & rust came right back. The armrest iPod connector died, cost too much too replace so now its connected through glove box. The Nav/radio needs updating but it will do for now. I had a kicker speaker put in the trunk & thats a huge improvement with the sound. Seats take some getting used to but are very comfy. Worth more than what I paid for it 6 months ago-cool

GB 2007 Jetta - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By GB - June 25 - 7:06 amThis car is surprisingly quick for a base engine with automatic. The six speed trans is very smooth and is programmed perfectly. Handling is excellent and performance in snow is very good. The interior is very good, but Im not sure I like the placement of the cruise control lever. Love the heated seats and chilled glove box. Sunroof is very well designed with little wind noise even at highway speeds. So far there have been no problems with any part of the car.

Fun & Fast - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By brian - May 9 - 2:53 pmThe turbocharged 200 hp 2.0 liter four is fast and delivers plenty of torque for a small sedan. The performance oriented GLIs sport tuned suspension separates it from the Jetta 2.0T, providing handling that feels like youre driving a sports car rather than a small sedan. The interior is upscale for its class and the controls could not be more simple to operate. The GLIs exterior has a sporty grille and alloy wheels which make it stand out from other Jetta versions. Be careful with the tires. My GLI came with the 18" summer tire option and these Bridgestone Potenzas are completely useless in even a half inch of snow so be ready to buy snow tires. My only repair was a replaced ignition coil

Love It! - 2007 Volkswagen Jetta
By ProudJettaOwner - April 30 - 11:56 amThis is my second VW Jetta. I traded in my 2000 Jetta for the 07 Wolfsburg and WOW, what a difference! I actually bought the car, not loving the exterior, I bought it for the interior and everything it had to offer but since I have had it, I have grown to LOVE the body as well.
