This Year's Model Updates:

For 2010, the Toyota Tundra receives a more powerful midrange V8 as well as the high-end Platinum and stripped-down Work Truck packages. Other changes include minor cosmetic tweaks, the addition of front-seat knee airbags, and added options that include two new audio choices, a power vertical rear window, folding tow mirrors and an in-mirror back-up camera display.

Pros:
  • Strong V8 powertrains, capable six-speed transmission, large extended and crew cabs, comfortable and spacious cabin, numerous safety and convenience features.
Cons:
  • Some interior design missteps, feels bigger than some competitors, relatively rough ride.

  • Awesome Truck, downright AWFUL MPG - 2010 Toyota Tundra

This truck is awesome. It has an unbelievable amount of power, and exceeds my expectations with ease, but I regret my decision in buying the "Rock Warrior" package, as the tires, suspension, etc. are hurting this trucks gas mileage severely. As in 9 mpg in the city, 10-12 mpg highway. Other than that, all I can say is that this has to be the best half-ton ever built.

I traded my 09 Silverado on this truck because of numerous problems and trips to the dealer. I have had other toyota trucks over the years and returned because of the build quality. This truck is smooth, quiet, powerful and bone solid reliable. 30% of the time I am towing a 5800 lb travel trailer and am very impressed with the 4.6 engines towing ability. In my opinion the engine is good compromise between economy and power. Currently I am getting about 17 in combined driving, 19 highway and 10 - 11 towing. I also like how the 6 speed transmission operates, the heating cooling system and seat fabric. Biggest complaint is a rather flimsy bed, which I plan to cure with a spray in liner.

I really liked my 2004 Toyota SR5 Double CAB but love the 2010 Crewmax. The ride, performance, size and turning radius are all much improved from the 04.

  • Best half ton - 2010 Toyota Tundra

I drove every truck out there, Chevy, Ford, and Dodge. The Ford look nice inside and out, but when you drive it (it lacks power for a v8 5.4) and to me the engine is the heart of a truck! The Chevy was a good truck but didnt have the resale valve that Toyota has. The 6.0l was good but 5.7l was better. The Dodge had the best ride but cant tow as much as the others. The 5.7 hemi is better then last gen but the 5.7 is just better. All the trucks have great things going for them but the Toyota has it all. The ride on all trucks are ok at best, but Toyota has the worst bed bonce.

  • Remember its a Toyota "TRUCK" - 2010 Toyota Tundra

One month so far. Replaced a F150 with Tundra Dbl cab. F150 drives like a caddy, Tundra like a used Mack. Bouncy and loud. Great looking, but take it for a long test drive to make sure. Gauges hard to see,2 front seats, yet cupholders (good for long trips across Sahara),but no map pockets? Radio system confusing & impossible to reach(steering wheel controls dont really help). Cruise hard to reach and tells you it is on when it really isnt. Hard to control gas pedal, small brake pedal. But, typical of Toyota & Honda-you get what we give you and like it. Great towing capacity but highly overrated as everyday driver for performance and comfort! Oh, dont forget the $100 oil changes.

First ever Toyota Truck! What an awesome truck!!!! Get the 5.7 litre. The average fuel per gallon is 16!! WOW!! I have always owned Chevy trucks but I have to tell you not only is the truck built in the United States but it blows away the Chevy and GMC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We loved our 2000 Tundra and it provided excellent service over a ten year period. The sales incentives got me into the showroom and we were able to negotiate a fair trade-in. So far only nits to pick about the new Tun. We agree with the criticism about the ride quality. We hope this will be less of an issue when towing our large travel trailer, which is why we opted for the bigger truck with more power. We opted for the towing mirrors which make towing a snap. Gas mileage is amazingly the same or better than our old truck. Disappointed that the base-level audio seems weak, but has a lot of features making it a wash. Overall we are very happy and feel that Toyota build quality is still superior.

love the truck. First truck since our old sr5 first gen truck. Truck changed my Grandparents (long time gm fans) mind about the tundra. My paps even asked how much it would cost to trade his 2500hd for my tundra. pretty impressive truck to say the least.

  • Excellent Truck - 2010 Toyota Tundra

Even with the work truck package and the base 4.0L engine, this is a great vehicle. Looks good, rides smooth for full-size truck and gets a lot of looks. Toyota really paid attention to truck buyers this time; theres storage compartments everywhere, the tailgate is light as a feather but still very strong and the whole truck just feels sturdy and beefy. I used to buy only domestic trucks because of headroom issues (Im very tall), but now the Toyota cab is just as tall and roomy as the competitors. While Ford may have more packages and options available, Toyota has been smarter about the offerings they have. After all, no one wants roll-up windows on a truck over $20k.

Have enjoyed many long trips, 1k miles, spend most of my day in it, always comfortable, easy to change settings.
