Overview & Reviews
The Tundra continues into 2006 without major changes, though an adoption of new and more accurate SAE engine measuring procedures by Toyota has resulted in a slight drop in the amount of stated power for the V6 and V8 engines.
- Smooth and refined V8 engine, Toyota build quality and reliability, nimble off-road, most carlike of the full-size trucks.
- Lacks serious brawn for towing and hauling, narrow cabin, mediocre seat comfort.

The Toyota Tundra - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By Harryooooo - August 28 - 4:56 amThe toyota tundra is the truck. I have owned them all from Dodge to chevy to Nissan and the tundra puts them to shame. The best part of owning a toyota tundra, when its time for sell, it holds its value. Lets face it, if everyone could afford one, they would be driving one. Toyota is the smart choice

2005 Toyota Tundra TSS Series - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By Catherine - June 14 - 4:53 amWe initally test drove a tundra in 2004 and after test driving all other brands of trucks, we kept coming back to the Tundra. We love it. It is a very comfortable ride and quiet. Very roomy for the family and friends.

I liked this truck - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By Rob - February 22 - 3:10 pmI purchased this Toyota with about 44,000 miles on it and owned it for about a year. I did about 12,000 miles in it and never encountered any reliability issues. It was fairly powerful and quite fun to drive; it felt lighter and the handling felt more responsive than my fathers F-150 but I found it harder to park. I eventually got in the habit of parking it in reverse which was much easier than parking forward. I am a careful driver and can usually get better than estimated MPG but I found that I was unable to improve this trucks MPG much with careful driving. The car felt well built and the interior was solid, although I did have some problems with paint peeling from the front bumper.

toyota man again - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By Steve - February 10 - 4:50 amThis is my second toyota, the first one bought in 1983, before Toyota was established as a serious contender for the truck market. The Tundra is Toyotas crown jewel truck! it offers an excellent ride and performance package that rivals all of the domestic trucks to be sure. My first Toyota lasted 150,000 miles and was still running strong when I sold it ten years later. Im sure Ill get at least that much and more from this one!

Love my Tundra - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By Love my TOYota! - November 19 - 4:36 amThis is an excellent, well built vehicle. It handles very well on or off road. Well worth the initial cost. I dont need to worry about it breaking down. Had a Dodge which does not even come close to comparison from the start (i.e. engine & transmission dependability even the first 100k miles). Everything, from how the doors fit shut to how it handles driving, it is a well built vehicle with a group of mechanics that take the time and effort to keep tight specs and pride in their work. The time spent for quality in product, logical engineering and not just pushing a product out the door to just make a buck has a great product being produced. Thank you Toyota, for the grand work!

No Problem -Toyota- - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By Terry C. - November 9 - 10:16 amThis is the most solid pickup Ive ever been in in my life! Nary a squeak or rattle anywhere. This is my third Toy pickup and Im impressed with their product. The V-6 provides ample power, I didnt want a six cylinder until I tried one. Buy with confidence!

Great Pickup - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By COTundra - October 20 - 5:53 pmI really consider this an over-powered small pickup. The truck really does not compete with traditional full-sized US manufactured pickups. Towing cap. is mid-range to low at 6500 lbs., but perfect for my needs: towing snowmobiles, quads, camper, etc. A great truck for long trips from sea level to the continental divide, with toys in tow, and carrying 5 adults comfortably. The truck has good clearance as it allowed the 4x4 to plow right through the recent blizzard we had here in CO (4 foot drifts). Well powered for its weight.

Love it so far! - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By LAK77 - September 30 - 3:40 amI have owned the truck for about three weeks now and 1,500 miles in to ownership I am very pleased. I love the power, handling, and space. I have just ordered an intake and muffler for it hoping it will help increase the airflow and improve my fuel mileage a bit (even though I am already getting between 16-18.5). I feel bad for making fun of Toyotas for so long! I am not sure I would make another purchase outside of their lineup.

I love my new Tundra - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By portac - July 19 - 6:00 amIve had my double cab for about a month now. I really love it. It drives like a car. I especially like the power rear window that rolls down. I get about 16 mpg driving to work, which isnt great. But I didnt buy a truck for the gas mileage.

Im happy I looked and waited... - 2006 Toyota Tundra
By lvitch - July 6 - 12:56 amGreat Truck! Down sides: Needs better lumbar support, Big turning radius (Im used to my old pathfinder), windshield scratches easily. I love this truck more every time I drive it. Plenty of power, I dont even know my 19 bass boat is back there. Highway passing is effortless. Gets the same mileage whether Im towing or not (18 mpg). Plenty of room for me and my family (Im 61 and my kids are huge). Hands down the best I looked at and drove, period.
