Overview & Reviews
After being fully redesigned last year, the Toyota Tundra enters 2008 with only minor changes, such as the expansion of the base "Tundra Grade" trim to all body styles and additional standard features for the SR5 and Limited trim levels.
- A wide range of cab and bed styles, potent 5.7-liter V8, brawny tow ratings, spacious passenger quarters, numerous safety and convenience features.
- Cabin has a lot of hard plastic and a few ergonomic flaws.

I like this truck so far 2008 tundra - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By Leon Garray - June 8 - 2:03 pmI traded in my 2006 silverado for a 2008 tundra, one of the best thing I did. I feel Im driving a real truck the comfort is great, the power is there when you need it V8, I get 300 miles on a full tank using premium fuel. The only negative feed back I have is theres a few blind spot other wise its a good truck. Ive owned this truck for one month...

Best truck out there - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By Rob - May 27 - 6:53 amI have been a GM guy for decades. I came out of a 2005 Chevy Avalanche and was going to get a 2008 Avalanche until I test drove the Tundra Crewmax. What a vehicle! I test drove the best GM had to offer, the 2008 GMC Sierra Denali, and this beat it hands down in power, quietness, smooth ride, interior storage, and all the electronic gadgets. Love this truck.

2008 Toyota Tundra SR5 - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By The Needle - April 15 - 6:06 pmMy experience so far is that this is an OK truck. All windows are very small and obstruct views, especially the rear windows. Rear seating on my Extended cab is VERY uncomfortable on long trips. Gas mileage is miserable: around 14mpg with half city and hwy. Nice feature on the tundra is the rear video cam, but thats cause youll need it. Also the interior is cheap.

Sweet Ride - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By jeff - March 28 - 8:33 amI have the x-sp blue with grey interior and the IPS rims. I think this is the best looking truck on the market presently and maybe for the last twenty years. This truck fits the bill in all catagories when compared to Chevy, Ford or Dodge. Design and functionality are good.

Good truck but not up to the hype - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By john - March 21 - 11:06 amI honestly can say that this truck out accelerates (barely) my 400+ hp modded dodge hemi similarly equipped featurewise, no doubt due to its 4.51 rear gear ratio which seems to get overlooked in comparison tests as the main reason its so quick. As far as handling the steering felt looser than my ram which has 80000 miles and the brakes were softer than I expected. Overall its a nice truck but its not my style inside or out and if I ever tow 10000 pounds on a regular basis Ill be driving a diesel.

Proud Owner - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By Dick Trout - February 6 - 11:26 amThere is an occasional transmission "clunk" when coasting at about 35 mph. Other than that, this is the best truck I have ever owned. We haul an 8,000 pound trailer about 15,000 miles per year, often in mountains. Plenty of power! Often have 2,000 pounds in bed. truck doesnt even "squat". Truck has temperature gauge. Would also like a standard compass. Repair service of any kind has never been necessary

it IS the Truck of the year - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By pushm - December 30 - 12:50 pmI was looking for the replacement of my old F150. I did my research (here at Edmunds as well :)) and just for the kicks decided to stop at the Toyota dealership. Ive heard bad things about earlier TTs. I was not really going to buy one. But after testdriving TT with 5.7 6A I turned around and bought the truck. Just like that. No other trucks to test, no hesitations, no regrets. Ive been driving it for a month now. Two trips to skiing areas (lots of snow). Couple of long rides on the freeway. IT IS NICE. Theres nothing that Ive driven before (truckwise) come even close.

Bigger Gas Tank - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By Carlos - December 2 - 2:23 pmSince this Tundra 4x4 5.7 is a V8 and makes an average 14miles per gallon is SHOULD HAVE a bigger gas tank or a secondary gas tank so the truck may have more gas station independence, I hate to stop to fill up the thank every 250 miles. Pls take a note on this. The springs are too soft for heavy loads. But overall this is a great "get out of my way" looking monster which I am proud to drive.

Great Powertrain!! - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By Slysnakeman - November 3 - 6:36 pmTruck has loads of power and a silky shifting 6 speed tranny. MPG has stayed around 16 overall with about 30% of my driving in the city. Truck steers and tracks exceptional and acceleration is effortless. Overall the ride quality is "good" not great. The rear suspension rides jittery and a bit stiff. Its what I expected from a truck with a 1500 lb. payload and 10,000 lb. towing capacity. Ive really enjoyed the nav/JBL with bluetooth, and the backup camera is very helpful in a truck this size.

Way Overrated - 2008 Toyota Tundra
By David - October 17 - 7:26 pmThis is my first and last Toyota truck. GMC has forgotten more about trucks than Toyota knows.
