The 2007 Toyota Tundra is completely redesigned. Larger and stronger than before, Toyota's full-size truck offers three cab sizes, three bed lengths and three engine choices, including an all-new 381-horsepower 5.7-liter V8.

Pros:
  • Wide range of cab and bed configurations, powerful 5.7-liter V8, high tow ratings, spacious passenger quarters, numerous safety and convenience features.
Cons:
  • Lots of hard plastic and a few ergonomic flaws in the cabin.

  • Dont buy a Totota Tundra!!! - 2007 Toyota Tundra

Do not make the same mistake that I made! My pickup has been in the shop for 3 months of the 10 months that I have owned it. At present Toyota is replacing the airbag sensors and the 6 speed transmission. Also, I now understand that the tailgate will need to be replaced due to design errors. Toyota has never built a full size pickup before and it may be years before they get it right. Dont take the chance like I did or you may fegret it. Also, they do not hold their value because Toyota is now discounting them to get rid of them. Leonard Liveoak

I was a big believer in Toyota quality until my Tundra experience. Auto door locks and remote wont function on the front doors and they tell me it will be $1,250 to fix. Since the key only works on the driver door, this is a big hassle. Why design locks so they are too expensive to fix? The lights on the radio panel havent worked for most of the time since Ive had the truck, so the button lights and channel indicator cant be read while night driving. Transmission replaced once, but then often jerked when putting the car in drive. Dealer tells me they just have this problem and he cant fix it. This is not the reliability and quality I thought I was spending my money on.

  • Hosed . . . - 2007 Toyota Tundra

Love the style, look and (when its right) performance of this truck. I work out of state and put tons of miles on my vehicle, as well as drive it off road quite a bit, making 4wd drive a necessity. After returning from a trip, my 4wd locked up in 4 low - I took it to my local Toyota Dealer who informed me that this is a known problem if you drive your 4wd Tundra anywhere it is wet or cold - this was corroborated by several of the other techs at the Toyota dealership. I contacted Toyota and they said that although there is a known problem, its not covered under the warranty. $2400 later, my 4wd works, but weve learned our lesson. This model just isnt right.

  • Not what I expected - 2007 Toyota Tundra

Well Ive owned them all. I own a construction company and needed a truck that has a high towing capacity and horsepower rating. Ive put 21,500 miles on the 5.7L and has not proved to be what I expected. I am very hard on trucks but am adamant about service every 3k miles, and fuel filter every 12k. At 6800 miles the valve train started making noise so I took it in to discover my truck had leaked over a quart of oil in a 4 month period. My engine was totally overhauled. I was hauling a 9k trailer up the grapevine and my tranny overheated and would not shift.. had to wait till it cooled down.. weak.. Now brakes are shuddering. Toyota and quality dont go together anymore. Will be my last.

  • Give me my 2005 Tundra back! - 2007 Toyota Tundra
    By -

Overall the Tundra is Okay, they have fianlly matched the big 3 in terms of lower quality, this is my 4th Tundra and the worst one thus far. I have a steering wheel vibration that I have been to the dealer 5 times now and it is still not repaired. The paint is very frail,I have to say that Ford is light years ahead on Paint quality! I own 40 Trucks so I know! The interior paint on the dash is poor quality as well, have many scratches already! The plastic dash cluster is also very cheaply made! The leather seats are fairly nice. the ride quality is fair except for the constant vibrating of the steering wheel. It makes your hands numb on a longer trip! The sheet metal panels-thin!

  • FALLING APART - 2007 Toyota Tundra

The cd never worked it eats cds, never fixed. Immediately after the warranty went out 2 expensive air pumps went out. Toyota is aware of the problem in these trucks, parts to replace are on back order. We are paying 920.00 a month for a truck we cant drive. They have no idea when parts available. The repairs take an hour and truck has been in shop over a week and no idea when parts will be in. Dealership has no compassion for our problems. We thought we would have a dependable vehicle. We have only had 1 year.

  • Bought into all the talk - 2007 Toyota Tundra
    By -

All the talk and ads stated just how great this truck is and it just isnt. Just bought it and if I could return it, it would be back at the dealership now. It produces 381 horses, but at 5600 rpm and redlines just over 5000 rpm. You cant use the so called power when you want it or need it. I transported a solid wood desk that two guys physically placed in the bed. Drove just over 56 miles and used almost 1/4 tank of gas. I can say that because I just filled up the truck next door to the furniture store and drove home. Estimated gas rate is 15 to 19, real world really getting 12 on the highway. I dont drive much city traffic. If you want a truck do your reading and look it over well. The brochure told me what I needed to know, but I let others tell me otherwise.

  • Okay, but not good enough - 2007 Toyota Tundra
    By -

I have had this truck for two years. I have had no major problems except excessive uneven wear on the tires which my Orlando dealership did not take seriously. Instrument cluster is hard to read and needs a redesign. Does not pull the boat as well as my Ford Excursion. Next truck will be a F250.

  • Awful ride - 2007 Toyota Tundra
    By -

I bought this powerful half ton thinking it would run like my 9 year old tacoma. The ride is simply awful. I as well as my passengers are literally bouncing off our seats being held in by our seat belts. I dont dare have my new born in the truck as a passenger. After waiting a year for a promised fix from Toyota for the rough ride I could wait no longer and traded it in for a GMC Sierra. Lost a bit of power but man is the ride better. Problems during my 9 months of ownership: the rubber sealant around the windows were replaced. The drivers side mirror was replaced. The torque convertor was replaced. The transmission was being looked at due to hesitation-vibration.

  • Bounce away - 2007 Toyota Tundra
    By -

After owning a Tacoma for 8 years I went out and bought a Tundra. The big boy. And boy have I have been disappointed. The ride in this truck is just AWFUL. My pregnant wife gets physically sick from the bouncing it does on the highways here in southern Cali. I am waiting for Toyota to address my complaint. I do not have the TRD package but I still bounce. Toyota knows about the problem but has yet to address it. Buyer beware! I only wish I knew a month ago. At the very least, test drive on the highways for a few miles before you decide.
