This Could Be The Ultimate Truck - 1997 Toyota T100
By Biscotti - June 11 - 10:00 amThis truck has to do it all: work hard all day in 4WD out in the woods on a tree farm, haul the kids to school, and look good downtown on a night out (and be easy to park). It does all of this in great style, and has never had need for more than regular maintenance. It is a torque monster - it has literally pulled stumps out of the ground many times. All this and fuel economy too, are you listening Detroit?

200,000 hard miles - 1997 Toyota T100
By truckintahoe - February 20 - 5:23 amMy 97 T100 is used as it should be, a no nonsense truck in the Sierra, NV mtns. I cant say enough about the quality (nothing squeaks when I hit bumps), comfort and overall driveability of the truck. Toyota had a winner with this one. Everything works excellent and my A/C still blows coldddd.

PLEASE bring something like it back - 1997 Toyota T100
By Lynn - January 20 - 12:16 am1. 207 inches long: it fits in my garage/I can park it in a parking ramp. 2. Its got a 6 foot box and 4 feet between the fender wells. 3. In a pinch, itll seat 6 people. Im the 2nd owner and have had it for 14 years. If any manufacturer made a similar truck today, Id buy it tomorrow. I have no negatives.

T100 It keeps running & running. - 1997 Toyota T100
By Rick Obeid - January 16 - 7:20 pmI purchased my T100 in Jan 1997 with the idea that I would use it to get back and forth to work and light hauling such as my 14ft. Alumnacraft boat. In almost 11 years of ownership it has never left me stranded. Ive had two problems with the truck where the repair costs were over $150. The first was AC related and was covered by the standard warranty. The second repair was more of a wear issue, the valve cover gaskets needed replacing. The truck started leaking very small amounts of oil. All other repairs have been minor or routine maintenance. Im selling the truck to a friend because he needs a reliable fuel efficient vehicle. Good luck finding one!

Good, reliable truck - 1997 Toyota T100
By Bob A. - September 24 - 8:33 pmBought new. Only major problem was rebuild of rear axle at 59K miles covered under powertrain warranty. Probably related to pulling boat at close to 5K tow rating limit. Consistantly gets around 19mpg. Seat belt retractors suck, they never worked right from new, but thats the only real complaint. Aftermarket accessories limited compared to American big 3.

This is the best truck ever made. Period. - 1998 Toyota T100
By Ben - June 13 - 9:14 amThe T100 isnt fast nor flashy. It wont tow heavy loads. It doesnt have heated seats, climate control, navigation, or blind spot monitoring. Compared to todays trucks its really quite a dinosaur. So how can I say its the best truck ever made? Because it is. My 1998 3.4L SR5 4x4 is going on 20 years old. Its logged more than 205,000 miles, and many of those miles were off pavement in the mountains of Montana or on rocky trails in the Mojave Desert. Death Valley too. Its spent most of its life stored outside in the blazing sun, neglected Im ashamed to say. Despite all of this, every single bit of the truck still works. It still looks great too, and most importantly it starts every single time you turn the key. Once started, it goes places where most modern trucks wouldnt dare thanks to its narrow width and ample ground clearance. You can even still chain up the front end should the going get tough. Try that on a new Tundra. They simply dont make trucks like this anymore. Ive been asked many times if its for sale. My answer is always the same, "no it isnt, and it never will be."

Bought at 10 years old - 1997 Toyota T100
By Bigdog - April 8 - 9:40 pmCame to me with 144,000 miles on it. Drives great on the highway, straight and true and smooth. Takes the bumps like a pickup, but then thats what its called. Previously owned a 79 4WD Toyota, and this is like a Cadillac to me. Reasonable sized rear bed with the extra back seat for shopping and inside packages. 4WD sits as tall as all its bigger brothers and sounds great! My wife drove it into the end of the garage and with a new bumper and headlight, it looks the same as before. Tough truck!

I Love What U Do For Me! - 1998 Toyota T100
By RueVac.com - November 23 - 2:00 amMy company purchased this truck for me in February of 1998. I have maintained the truck like clock work. It has never let me down. I tow trailers with equipment and materials without a problem. My truck now has 150,000 miles and is still running as strong as ever. I would deffinately recommend the T-100 to anyone who is considering purchasing a mid-size truck. I installed a Fabtec 3" lift kit, 31" tires and stiffer torsion bars. I ordered new rims with a larger backset to correct the sunken in wheel look. The gas milage suffered slightly however the truck looks as mean as ever.

Best Money Ever Spent - 1998 Toyota T100
By kaywye - April 8 - 8:00 amBuilt proof, reliable, near perfect...I bought a 98 SR5 4x4 in 2002 with around 25k on it. I have driven it as my primary vehicle (commuter, highway, hunting and camping) for nearly 14 years. The truck has 155k on it now. I have done regular maintainance and a few minor repairs (small wiring issue at around 70k), nearly no issues. The motor lacks power, put it serves most purposes other than towing. I love this truck. If you find one with less than 150k, buy it. I cant wait to give it to my daughter and she is only 5. I know it will still be around.
