Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

Weve had no problems at all with the Sienna and its been a comfortable vehicle for long trips and taxiing kids around town.

  • Very happy with our purchase - 2008 Toyota Sienna

Enjoying this van even more than we expected. Just completed road trip halfway across USA (2700mi round trip) with our infant and preschooler and the van was quieter and more comfortable than many of the hotels we stayed in. Very smooth, versatile, comfortable and dependable, avgd 25+mpg loaded down with AC full on - even over the mountains & back. Drives great, power is there when needed. Highly recommended for families with small children & all the associated stuff. Smart layout, fold- down front console is simply brilliant. No more diving for the pacifier. Cant say enough about how impressed I am with this van. Feels & drives like a Lexus made for baby seats & strollers.

Did a lot of research to replace our 92 Caravan - lots of good vehicles out there - this is the best for us in terms of size and standard features. A definite step up from our previous car - 4 speed auto, dual side doors, rear ventilation system, and folding seats. Expect that this will be with us for a long time.

  • Love my Sienna - 2004 Toyota Sienna

This has been a great vehicle. Even after 90000 miles it is tight and smooth. I enjoy the handling, tight turning radius, smooth Lexus-style and ride, great meileage, high-cube storage, rides level under heavy loads, excellent heat and A/C in all zones. It has never been in the shop other than for routine maintenance and the few factory recalls to correct issues that I would have never otherwise noticed. I appreciate all of the standard options, such as tilt/telescopic wheel, rear power passenger windows, 5-speed automatic transmission. My next Sienna will be the XLE with leather, sunroof, power lift-gate, back-up sensors, etc.

  • AWD - Good, No Spare - Bad - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

All things said the Sienna has loads of space and drives well for a van. One gripe - fold flat rear seat is a big deal, so much so that other auto companies have discontinued their AWD models to add the well. It looked like Toyota had solved this problem. Not really - Run flat tires - no spare. This was not mentioned by the dealer. The vehicle even has a sticker displaying how to remove the spare, except there is none.

With all of the top ratings from CR, Insurance Institute, Government Crash Tests, Motor Trend, etc., this vehicle was definitely worth a look. After taking a good close look, I could not help but BUY.

After test driving a lot of CUVs and vans we couldnt resist the value and potential reliability of Sienna to replace our 03 Sienna (no that it needed raplacement). We are pleased with the space and tech goddies compared to 03. The drivetrain is sublime. the V6 is very punchy and the 6 speed is smooth. on a 400 mile trip we got 25 mpg. my wife absolutely loves it. hope we are set for another 10 yrs. though I have noticed cost reduction in interiror trim. AT the end, as long the trim holds up, relaiblity of major electromechanical items (aka powertrain, power equipment) is what matters.

  • and I used to like this van - 2002 Toyota Sienna
    By -

My primary reason for purchasing the Sienna was Toyotas legendary quality and reliability (plus the Honda sales managers that I dealt with were not very pleasant). In December 2002 my Sienna would not start. It took the dealership over 3 weeks to find the problem, which turned out to be a loose wiring harness. A difficult problem to find, no doubt, and not one that necessarily foreshadowed any future issues. Yesterday, about a month after being repaired, the Sienna once again failed to start. So after being stranded a second time by my nearly new Sienna (2002 Symphony), I have serious doubts about Toyotas reliability, certainly about this Sienna.

  • Sienna XLE - 1999 Toyota Sienna

A smooth-riding, tightly built, versatile travel machine. Great leather seating and the Camry engine make the best value.

  • Thats a winner - 2003 Toyota Sienna

After 8 months of research and debate between Honda, Mazda and Toyota settled on the T despite initial distaste with the exterior appearance (98 percent of the time youre inside it, right?). The $2,500 rebate from Toyota to move the 03s before the updated and admittedly superior 04 hits, sealed the deal. So ended up with a top of the line XLE for the same price as the Honda and with way better reliability and more features than the Mazda.
