Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Enjoyable Ride - 2010 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We recently purchased a 2010 Toyota Sienna XLE with EVP#2 after a lot of research. Not surprisingly, the other minivan we were eventually considering was the Odyssey. Both are great cars, and very comparable. After test driving both the same day, we decided that we preferred the quieter, smoother ride the Sienna offered. We dont agree that the Sienna gives an overly cushy or unresponsive ride.

  • 2015 Sienna downgrade from 2004 Sienna - 2015 Toyota Sienna

This is a very nice people mover with good performance and features. It replaced a 2004 Sienna which was great. Simple changes like reducing the size and capacity of the roof rack and seating changes makes it less useful than the 2004. We expect the same reliability - the 2004 went 225 miles with no problems. The transmission went and cost $4400 but we got to 335K miles and sold for $1400 after the rebuilt transmission also failed. The sliding and folding seat mechanisms are an improvement. The climate controls are unnecessarily complex. Changing to a timing chain should reduce maintenance frequency and cost. Overall, this is a vehicle I would recommend. After about 85,000 miles it is still performing well with no major problems

  • Convenience - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Excellent dash and options layout, easy to drive, many safety oriented items with thoughtful availability. fuel efficient for size and weight. DLC and backup camera are well received. Navigation system is great for travelers. Power third row seats are excellent choice for older drivers or for physically smaller individuals.

  • Not a car but a minivan!! - 2002 Toyota Sienna
    By -

When driving this vehicle, you might forget you are driving a minivan. The drive is very smooth and if you listen hard enough, you might hear the murmur of the engine. As far as handling goes, this one gets the highest rankings in my book. Being a mother with a child, it is good to know that even I can handle a vehicle of this size. I feel absolutely safe while driving vehicle. The steering turns with ease and the brakes begin to work promptly at the slightest amount of pressure applied. I like the exterior design, however, the interior needs a little face lift.

I was in a serious head on accident, which totaled my van, on 11-5-02. Even thought the front was totally flattened, the interior of my van was NOT touched. I truly believe my Sienna saved my life and that is why on 11-27-02 I will be picking up another one.

  • Great Van For The Money - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

It came down to the Sienna or the Odessey. We found that the Sienna was a better value and offered a few more extras than the Honda. The seats were more comfortable than the Honda. We now have 12,000. miles on it and love it. We get 25 mph city and highway. The seats are much more comfortable than any van in this class. It has plenty of room. Drives and handles like a more expensive car.

  • All was fine until Door Cable Broke - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Our 2004 Toyota Minivan 8 passenger was a fine, reliable, easy to drive, no frills (we bought the LE), family van. Weve been camping, endless school pickups dropoffs, family events, etc. Never a worry. Then, the cable in the automatic door broke. Thank goodness we only have one auto slider. The cost to repair? $1400! We have duct taped the thing in the shut position until there is a recall on this problem. After our shock, I have found that there are more vans with this problem than can be counted. Too bad Toyota is not willing to deal on this. We had been considering Prius/Matrix/Camry for a purchase this year. Now we will reconsider.
