Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Awesome van - 2004 Toyota Sienna

I bought this AWD van with 150K miles on it. It doesnt use a drop of oil, rides smooth and is free of major body defects but the prior owner did have it rustproofed regularly. I now have 180K miles on it and it is still running strong. The only serious problem has been a rear wheel bearing which cost less than $400 to repair. I love the sure footed feel of this van in our snowing northern climate.

The Sienna has very light and carlike ride it so easy to operate and is very comfortable to drive and to sit in as for the members of a family. For long rides and for just simple shopping the sienna has a lot of storage options. The engine is very quiet and smooth and handling is superb. The main thing is the fuel consumption as with the v6 engine may run in the city at 14mpg and in the hiway at 19-24mpg. Still enjoy the ride and the driving comfort when you buy a sienna

  • Next time not Toyota - 2008 Toyota Sienna

I am not happy with this van. Shortly after new - right out of showroom - things started falling off. On cold days the engine sounds like it is going to blow - dealer says this in normal. Cheap plastic bumpers come loose and have to put back in place. Found nuts, clips etc on the floor. Drivers seat uncomfortable on long trips. No automatic head lights. This van is less than a year old and looks and sounds like it is 5. Cheaper than Kia, Honda and Nissan and now I know why! Will Toyota run and hide again when major issues like engine failure - or after class action lawsuit scares them will they "Voluntarilly" fix problems. I have never heard a new engine sound so bad at start up.

Still have this van. I think Ive reviewed it on Edmunds before. It will be five years old in September 2009. It has about 58,000 miles on it now. Im very happy with it, as is my wife. Other than a couple of minor things, sensors, a window motor, things like that, it has been trouble free. Even those things were covered under warranty. I dont think weve laid out any money for repairs. We have for maintenance, of course. Still on our second set of brake pads. Had the coolant and hoses changed. Should probably spring for plugs, cap and wires soon, but it still runs fine. Toyota treats its customers very well. Van is fantastic on trips, roomy, smooth, quiet. 25-26 MPG highway, 18-19 overall

Im so glad that my husband and I purchased this van. We had a 2001 Sienna and weve never had any problems. Weve driven this van everywhere and have no complaints. We got all of the upgrades for our van... the kids love the dvd headrests and as some have commented, I love the fact that the kids can watch their movie and I can hear my music. There are so many things we love about this van... too many to mention. We are just very pleased... of course, its a Toyota. :-)

We traded our 1995 Camry for a Sienna because we wanted something bigger for my wife and two kids. We liked the Honda Odyssey but the dealers wouldnt bargain. The Sienna body style was changing and we picked up one of the last 03 Symphony models. The car had no problems for 20k except for brake squeal, then the OEM Dunlop tires wore out. At 30k a noise developed in the steering, power door was stuck open, and now at 35k there is an oil leak. The Toyota dealer could not fix the suspension problem after three visits and then said the noise was normal. Overall it has been reliable, but has had more mechanical problems than we expected.

Had the van 6 months and had to be in the shop every other month. First the battery died and I had to drag the van out of the garage with 5k miles. Then the tire sensor had to be replaced, check engine light comes on, electric motors jumpy, rear latch broke and the door wouldnt even open. All this with 10k miles. I bought a new vehicle so my wife (works nights) and small children would have a reliable vehicle and I wouldnt have to worry. Now I have to spend a Saturday taking it to the shop. Cant get rid of it because the dealer says I still owe more than it is worth. Cant wait to see what happens next!

  • Best of the minni vans - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We just got our new minni van last month. It is fantastic. We love the great price, gas mileage, and all the new features. We just retired and will is great for all our needs. We were going to buy an upscale car but after test driving and checking out this new van, it was just as nice but also had so many other uses. love it and toyota products.

  • Toyota - I love it! - 2006 Toyota Sienna

The Sienna is perfect for my familys needs. It is roomy. The seats are VERY comfortable. Even I, at 62" and 210 lbs can sit comfortably in the back seat. The dash displays are clear and easy to see. I am a firm believer in extended warranties on new vehicles. They have always paid for themselves. However, my big fear is on this Toyota I have wasted my money due to the high quality of the vehicle.
