Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

I am writing this review in March of 2014. Ive owned my Sienna since it was new. I now have over 250,000 miles on my van. It has given me little problem over the years. I purchase 90,000 mile/warranty Michelin tires, and they usually wear unevenly and need replacing before they hit 50,000. This is with regular alignments & tire rotations done at the same time I have the oil changed at 5,000 miles. Other than this, the van has given me little problem. Ive been very happy with my van

Shortly after purchasing my Sienna, I began having problems. The dealer couldnt figure out why my check engine light came on several times a week, so they sent the van to another dealer two hours away. That dealer replaced the computer. My radiator has been replaced, all hoses have been replaced, and the fuses blow constantly. I LOVE this van as far as comfort and ease of driving. I am just very disappointed that I spent this much money and Im having this many problems. We are in the process of purchasing another vehicle.

This is a sleek great looking Van! Its very comfortable to drive, have been on 2 trips FL/NY and was very pleased. The Navigation System is good, not as good as in my Infinity M, but does the job. The rear camera, blue tooth, folding RV Mirrors, storage, cup holders etc. are very well thought out and functional. Was dissapointed with the gas milege (16.5MPG overall), and performance. Also, fold down 2nd row seats,as in the Chrysler Town & Country Van, would be a big plus. I removed them for our trips and that was a chore to say the least. Passenger seat s/b at least 6/way adjustable, for the price. Was not too comforable riding shotgun for a few hrs when wife took over the wheel.

  • Is this normal? - 2002 Toyota Sienna

Bought my wife a Sienna because shed had 3 Chrysler minivans and wore out multiple transmissions on each. After odometer hit 30,000 she asked me if why it hasnt had a recall or been in the shop yet for anything but oil changes. Is this normal? - she asked. I answered smugly - Yes, for a Toyota. Her Sienna has been all over the country with ZERO hiccups. Every Chrysler minivan had been in the shop at least twice a year and did little to instill driver confidence for a long road trip. I figure that we average 27 mpg at 70 mph. Any other minivans want to try that?

  • Love My 04 - 2004 Toyota Sienna

I just traded in my 03 Sienna for an 04. The 04 has so many more ammenities and is so much for versatile. I absolutely love the safety features especially the Curtain Air Bags down all three rows of seating. The 04 has a much better ride and a roomy interior. What a great van!! Everyone asks why would you trade an 03 for an 04.....drive one and compare the two...

I didnt think that I would like a mini van, but I was wrong. We traded our Lexus RX300 for the Sienna. It is much more comfortable, better gas mileage and all the conveniences of home. It is very kid friendly. With the back seats up you can transport 2 strollers, plenty of room for 2 car seats and more people. We packed a stroller and suitcases for 5 people in the back and had 6 people up front with no crowding. More cup and bottle holders than you need and the DVD player is a real plus. Definitely a car worth keeping around with a growing family.

I went from a Chrysler Town and Country to a Sienna and the difference is unbelieveable. The ride is smooth and the comfort cannot be beat! Our family has 3 under the age of 3 and we all fit comfortable, even with all the diaper bags and strollers! Great buy, Great car and the 10 airbags are a plus with little ones riding in the back seat!! The 6 cd changer, the mirror to see what is going on in the back and the Homelink system are added bonuses!

This is the worst new automobile that I ever bought. Radio didnt work out of the dealership and it leaked when parked in the rain. A year later radiator cracked and was replaced. Then came multitude of recalls. Run flat tires needed to replaced every 15,000 miles. The kicker is when my van broke down due to a faulty heat sensor at 80,000 miles the Toyota extra care does not want to pay.

Since this is a first-week review, take it with a grain of salt. So far, it is excellent. We traded in an 8-year-old Sedona, so the impress-me hurdle is pretty low. Nevertheless, the Sienna is impressive even though we purchased the base model V6 with the only options being floor mats (why arent they standard?) and towing prep. Im 62" and found that all the seats (driver, second row, and third row) were able to accomodate me comfortably. I just returned from an 800-mile trip and couldnt get over how smooth and comfortable the ride/drive was. Averaged over 25 mpg. Powerful engine, great feeling brakes, and good-for-minivan steering. Felt very solid and stable.

Weve had our Sienna for about a month now. We really love everything about it. Fit and finish on this vehicle are what you would expect from Toyota. Its very comfortable to ride and has a very smooth engine and transmission combo. It also should be as safe as anything on the road with all the safety features it has. We also got a very fair deal from our dealer on the Vehicle ~$36500 versus a sticker of right around $40000. We did also opt for the dealer applied underbody sound deadening which helps with road noise.
