Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

I have owned this van now for a year and half and found it to be a great van. Interior seating provides enough room for a 63 person to sit comfortable in any row and yes that means the third row also. Everyone that rides always says how quiet and smooth riding it is. I forget I am driving a minivan because it feels just like any midsize or large size car. Long trips are no problem with luggage. Gas mileage has blown me away. One trip we recorded 30 mpg on the highway. WOW. Just recently we got 32 mpg going up to Ohio from GA. Those trips the van had three people and lots of luggage. We have been getting about 19 around town.

Bought new three years ago and heres what I noticed. When I hit approx. 65 mph, cowl rattles. High pitch is noticed at 62 mph too. Dealer tried five times but still could not fix it. Driver side door had to be re-aligned because it was improperly installed. Power sliding door was rubbing against main body of the van--body shop took care of it. When the weather is cold, the engine idles high above 1700 rpm for 5 min. before settling down. Dealer says its normal but did not notice this on other rental minivan. 19 mpg overall. Bought this over Honda Odyssey because it was quieter but 3.3L is inadequate for this heavy van. Overall, this is a decent van but body integrity is very poor.

Took delivery of the XLE with Package #14 today and put about 120 miles on it. I am quite impressed with the smooth, quiet ride, smooth engine, and good handling. The drivers seat is comfortable, although it could use more thigh support. Passenger seat comfort leaves a lot to be desired.

  • Whats Not to Love? - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Turning radius is great. Seat configurations are astounding! Back split hide-away seat is so much easier to move than the Honda. I dont have one complaint--its a big van that drives like a sedan!

  • Bumpy and very loud on highway - 2010 Toyota Sienna

When I drive on highway its too bumpy and too loud. I cant even hear music and get headaches especially the second and third row seats. I dont recommend others to buy especially with small children.

I did not want to buy a mini van at all, but when I saw the new Sienna I was in love. It has the best options and look. I didnt want to feel like I was driving a mom mobile and I dont with the Sienna. Very satisfied with everything about it.

Bought the Sienna XLE Pkg #6 (nav, DVD, etc) in May. Have 9.5K on it now. Took 3,000 mile road trip in September. Very comfortable. Mileage averaging 18 mpg. Not one problem. New 3.5L V6 is great,. The Siennas not as cool as the Odyssey and is a bit boring to look at, but its reliable, comfortable, quick, and my wife is happy (after all, what else really matters?).

  • Good choice, only complaint was cost - 2005 Toyota Sienna

I love this van. I drove 2 dr sport cars before motherhood. I love cars, and this fits me as a woman who loves cars. As good as it gets, always comfortable driving long distance with no breakdown fears. I have drove nine days alone in Toyota models over the years with NO FEAR. I had power door replaced under warranty. Only real problem with 2005 model. I have learned to have general suggested belts, brakes, and other repairs done by local mechanic verse dealership to save on cost. Recently had the two belts for alternator and AC replaced due to loud squealing noise for two months. I believe this only happened because I moved into Mountain regions and ran the AC hard in the mountains.

The Toyota Sienna is very reliable. Mine has 205000 miles and still working great, never has had any problems. I will always buy Toyota because it is reliable. Remember "Its a Toyota."
