Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Could be a lot better - 2000 Toyota Sienna

Not as good as other Toyotas. Several design issues and problems: huge turning radius, not designed for 2 child seat tethers in the second row, CD player quit, passenger window fell off track, rust starting on the hood. Its an ok van, but I dont know why it is usually rated so high. Toyota could have and should have done better.

  • Check that everything works before you buy - 2013 Toyota Sienna

I traded in 2015 Toyota Camry in a 2015 Toyota Sienna. After I purchased the vehicle I found out that If I get my cell phone paired to my vehicle and try to call someone and use the scroll keys to get to the next person in the last dialed list, instead of scrolling up or down, it changes my radio channel. I contacted my dealership and they said that they contacted TOYOTA corp with the problem and they advised changing the radio. They got a new Radio, got it in and the problem is still there. So I called Toyota Corp and they told me that they will research this and get back with me. Next day they called and they said that my XLE vehicle does not have the feature that is "by the way was in my 2015 Camry, in my wifes 2014 Camry, and in the 2015 Toyota Sienna the BASE Model L and LE) but for some reason they decide to downgrade and eliminated this feature from their XLE. The absence of this feature is really irritating and can cause you try to call in a different way by scrolling the radio key in your radio and you may get involved in an accident. I almost had an accident because when you take your eyes on the road to reach for your radio, thats what happens. Think twice before you purchase this vehicle. It is your comfort and your life here.

  • Toyota the Quality Leader??? - 2004 Toyota Sienna

This is my first Toyota purchase and its not been a good experience. The van has had two recalls - one to put a tape on the doors because they are prone to rust? The other for a seat belt anchor. We also got a notice that the radiator is prone to leaking and that they would extend the warranty on it to 72K miles- little comfort to me. Also the power door on the passenger side and both heated seat elements have had to be replaced. In addition, the tires need replacement even though it gets many highway miles and the tires get rotated and balanced regularly.

  • NO Repairs - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Drove it off the lot and more than 50k miles later this Sienna hasnt been back. Get oil changed wherever, wore out the stock Dunlops at 30k, and replaced them with Costco Michelins, and had the front brake pads replaced at 45k.I do brake and corner very hard. Snappy engine and tranny seem to egg me on, although numb steering takes the fun out of it. LE seats are so so on long drives, and I wish now I had gone with the upscale stereo. Power door on the right only is fine for me, but a smaller driver would want a power door on the left also. Hatch is very heavy too, and forget about folding and removing seats unless youre prepared for a workout.

  • Great van! - 2004 Toyota Sienna

We bought this van off-lease from a fleet at wholesale in November 2006 after our 2nd child was born. It had 50K miles and had been serviced exclusively at a Toyota dealer. We never had a single problem or breakdown. Just routine oil changes, tires, brake pads, timing belt. It was plenty big for my family of 4 on long trips. Our best was 25mpg. We loved the 3rd row fold-down bench and usually left it folded down so we could throw in our double stroller un-collapsed. We owned it for 2 1/2 years, put 50K miles on it and sold it easily.

  • I dont miss my Explorer at all - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Due to the expanding family we wanted a 3rd row option. Traded in our explorer, and are THRILLED. We drive it daily and filled up with gas 2 weeks ago. Drives like a dream and has a tighter turn than our Volvo. Great van, and as a dad I do not fill like a total dork driving it.

  • New SE - 2011 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Swapped out a Benz GL 450 for an 11 SE. Very nice vehicle although interior plastics could be of higher quality. drives very well - car like. the x-tra tuning in steering and suspension create a much more German feel than the floaty XLE/LTD. car looks great and wheel, skirts and tire pkg make the car. cant beat the room. hard to argue against as a family hauler. this is our first van. IMO all of the SUVs out there try so hard to provide the utility of a minivan, as most 3rd rows are useless. even with the GL, 3rd row was one of the best in the SUV class, but not much storage beyond the seat when up. not much snob appeal but in todays world who really cares. bye bye 13 MPG!

  • Toyota GPS - Do not purchase - 2011 Toyota Sienna
    By -

The installed Toyota GPS, while fun to use with its large touch screen is DVD based, and the disk provided with my NEW Sienna was two years out of date... does not even have my street included (5 years old). AND... Toyota wants a ridiculous $250 for an updated disk! You can purchase a much better GPS, more features, and lifetime map updates for a little more than half that. Just stick it to the face of the Toyota display... Come on Toyota - get reasonable. A NEW car should at least have a current verions disk... and be provided with updates during warranty.

  • Reliability and Versatility - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Maybe I am lucky or maybe it is Toyota, but I have had no problems with my Sienna. Its been three years and counting, and its never been back to the dealer for any problems. I dont thrash my car, after all, it is a minivan, but on the other hand, I am probably not the most conscientious person about servicing the car. Like almost all minivans, it is great with people or cargo. To get the maximum cargo space does take a little effort.

  • Logic dictates the Sienna is the best - 2005 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I was heart broken when I traded my Subaru Legacy for the Sienna. I missed the low boxer engine, all-wheel-drive, and the manual shift. However, I have grown to like and respect the Sienna as a logical choice. The 8-passenger van has about the same gas mileage as my 5-passenger station wagon, plus tons of cargo space. With all seats removed/folded, the Sienna can carry 4x8 sheets, and even 10 long 2x4 or conduits. Even with all seats up, there is still plenty of trunk space left. The ride is smooth. Handling is average, but it is better than what I expected. With a family or cargo loaded, I tend to drive conservatively anyway. Great for long trips for the whole family.
