Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Excellent Van - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We have had our Sienna for 3 years now. The van was purchased in lieu of an SUV when we found out we were having twins. Our oldest likes the third row single seat, while the twins take up the captains chairs in the middle. The split third row gives us a lot of flexibility in storage or an extra two seats when needed. We love the van and have had no issues/complaints with the reliability or quality. The only issue that has risen is the battery has died many times. Each time has had a cause, i.e. a light left on. However, I dont think one interior light should kill a battery. My 2002 Tundra has never had battery issues. It may be time to upgrade the battery.

  • A Pretty Good Van - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Weve owned the vehicle for about 7 weeks, with a 1800 mile road trip with 3 kids under our belts. Got great gas mileage 23mpg, 70+mph and the AC on all the time. Good turning radius for a vehicle of this size. On the AWD version there is no spare, relying on the run flat tires to get you home. You can have one installed but it will occupy the area located behind the rear seat eliminating the ability to fold half of it down.

  • A Huge Step Up - 2008 Toyota Sienna

We owned a Volvo Wagon as our "family" car until we purchased this van. For 2 years we were not really interested in a minivan. What a big mistake. This car is amazing in every detail. I am tall, and had not been in the back until a trip from Charlotte to Miami. The ride in the second row is outstanding in every way. The van drives like a very nice full size car and handles well with great fuel economy. We are sorry we waited so long.

I have driven a Chevy Astro for seven years and loved the great cargo space and roominess for eight passengers, but the Astro needed many repairs. I gave up cargo space for comfort when I decided on the Sienna, but I am very happy with my choice. I was unhappy with the limited availability of the Sienna and that we had to drive to a dealership three hours away to get the color we wanted. But the car is very luxurious and the ride is so smooth and quiet. It rides more like an elegant car than a minivan.

  • Fit and Finish and Tires - 2007 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Love the Sienna Minivan, but Toyotas fit and finish stinks. Three days after buying the minivan the 6 disc cd changer failed, had to wait a month for a new one. Next was the front driver and passenger door panels get stuck on the door sill and pop off. The rear power outlet, fell out of the side panel, and does not reset in the hole. None of the dash board pieces fit evenly, too many big gaps. Last is the Michelin tires seem to wear fast, but that might be due to wheel spin.

  • Solid with Minor Hhiccups - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Having owned it for close to 4.5 years, I am satisfied regardless of high price. Have had repeated skipping with the CD player but Toyota replaced it no questions asked. Ive also had to bring it in twice to correct a design flaw that led to a blown rear heater line leaking fluid. One problem is the captains seat in center row have seatbelts that lock WAY too easy. Gas mileage has been less than I had hoped for, but the ride is smooth as ever and I love the ability to remove each seat individually, as well as hand controls on wheel for radio. I would say that Im not 100% thrilled but am blinded by the ever-slick tranny and solid construction.

  • Another SludgeMobile - 2001 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Our Sienna also developed engine oil gel. Guess thats PC for Sludge. We call it the sludgemobile too. Dealer just rebuilt the engine < 28k miles. Didnt fight either. We have 2 friends that have had rebuilds too. One got back 4000$ on repairs. The brakes squeal, the AC broke < 12 miles, O2 sensor broke, seat back fell off, visor broke (used about 5 times).

  • Great Family - 2005 Toyota Sienna
    By -

This vehicle has been a god-send to our family. We fill up the vehicle, and are too busy to mess with repairs. We purchased this vehicle with 68k and have doubled the mileage in 3 years with no issues at all. I have replace tires and oil only. Every thing works and works well. It is a pleasure to drive and the mileage for a van is great, consistently in the mid-20s- towing our pop-up I still get 18! Most of my extended family have owned GM or Chrysler products and I spent more up-front for my van, but in the long run saved money because of reliability.

  • best van I ever had - 1999 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I already owned three van before I got this van. It is the best van I ever had. I believe I will stick to sienna if I could get chance to replace it. But probably i have no chance since it seems be able running forever. I never had any even tiny problem on it.

  • Toyota - best car on road - 2005 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Ive owned three Lincolns and they dont compare to the Sienna. Mileage is great... just got back from a 7,230 trip and couldnt have asked any more from a vehicle... rode great, good mileage, avg almost 25 mpg for the whole trip. Traveled from NC to the west coast and back with numerous stops in between. One reason why the trip was so great was the ride was great. I give my Toyota a solid 9.75. Reason for no 10 is thatI honestly thought Id do a little better on the gas mileage.
