Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

My 1st experience with a Toyota minivan has been an exceptional experience. I selected the CE model based solely on economics (Im one of those fixed-income Seniors). The ride is luxury sedan-like; the horsepower is more responsive than I imagined it could be, the fit and trim is exceptional (no flaws could be detected, and Im anal about detail!) the rear fold away seat is a great help to an old foggy and when its up, my wife loves the convenience of storing the groceries back there in the well.

I love it! But the passenger side on mine doesnt have an electric seat control! Bummer. Also, the overall length is about 12 inches too long. I keep driving over curbs. Otherwise, I am thrilled. Do worry about the lack of a spare tire, and hope I dont have a blow-out on some desert road.

  • Big, Comfortable Van, dont call it mini. - 2008 Toyota Sienna

We purchased this VAN (its no mini) to upgrade from my 04 Corolla (loved it) as expecting family to grow soon. It is huge!! Very comfy for passengers, but very vague for the driver! Rolls during cornering with soft tuned suspension and soft brakes. Interior is very quiet. Great for cargo haul - has shopping hooks for grocery. Folding console in first row gives driver mobility inside the van. Gas mileage is 20-22 in town; Toyotas great build quality, but wish was slightly smaller and more engaging. Need to adjust to its gas guzzling habit during pick up. Toyota give a Hybrid option to help its pickup without compromising mileage.

  • 2002 Sienna 3.0 V6 - 113K - 2002 Toyota Sienna

Purchased new in 2002, now 113k. Overall a great buy for us. Tires a problem with wear due to frt. end weight. You will replace rotors if you do not replace pads earlier than expected. We only get 12-14k on a set of front pads just to be safe. Wifes van; shes a little speedy. Rear shoes repl @ 65k. Normal maintenance items; timing belt @ 90k, change trans fluid every 35-40k, coolant @ 70k, plugs @ 60k. Front end parts great though must keep aligned. No problems with doors but recommend periodic greasing of all. Engine and transmission still pull like new (knock on wood). Please report on this site engine/transmission problems and mileage occurred.

Chose Sienna (smoother, quieter ride) over Odyssey (sportier ride and seemed less quiet on freeways). Pregnant wife got car sick once during late night travel, and the GPS conveniently tracked the nearest hotel for us. Really like the interior spaciousness, although the Sienna was a tight fit in the 3rd car garage... the dual sliding doors made for easier ingress/egress since there were large shelves along the walls of the garage. Our Sienna has every option including HID lights, DVD Rear Entertainment, and JBL (above average audio... although nothing beats Mark Levinson). Dynamic laser cruise control is probably the only option not worth buying.

We purchased our Sienna just before our twins were born. We have absolutely loved it! We love the look and the quality of the workmanship. The Sienna drives so smoothly and we love the anti- lock brakes! When we started looking for minivans the Toyota came out on the top of our requirements in every area! Its the best purchase we have ever made!

  • This car saved my life! - 2003 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We loved our Sienna! It had all we needed for our two young boys. It also saved our lives in a head-on collision on the highway with an SUV. The seatbelts, airbags, and design of the engine and frame combined to protect us. Youd never expect something like this, but the Sienna was ready for it.
