Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Toyota gets it right with Sienna. - 2005 Toyota Sienna

This car is smooth as silk over the road and probably the quietest car Ive ever driven. The 8 way power drivers seat with power lumbar is the best Ive ever sat in and Im 6 tall. All the gadgets and controls are easy to navigate. The transmission shifts are so subtle, the only hint that it is shifting is the change in RPM on the tach. The fit and finish of this car is very nice and the quality is very good. The engine is plenty powerful for any task. The brakes are very good with just a slight pressure on the pedal, our van has 4 wheel disc, I highly recommend. The JBL sound system and DVD player is icing on the cake. The kids are plenty occupied on a trip with their wireless headphones.

  • Great Van - BAD NAVIGATION - 2008 Toyota Sienna

This is a great van! The quality is great...Toyota. The layout is comfortable. The only negative about the van is the GPS navigation system. Many secondary roads are not on the map. You cannot use the controls while the vehicle is moving. Toyota says it is because of safety, however if you have a passenger along, you cant find a hotel or a place to eat. A real pain. Dont get the GPS, buy an after market model that works on the move. The Toyota GPS is not user friendly and has a poor map (that you pay a fee to update). I have a hand held Garmin that is far superior. Again, great van that I really love just dont waste your money on the poor navigation system.

  • Happy With Sienna - 2011 Toyota Sienna

This is first Toyota ever. I have always avoided them due to the rip-off junk and fees Southeast Toyota adds on to the stickers. They still do it but are doing a little better job of hiding them. At any rate, I bought it because of the large amount of space between the first and second row seats (due to the second row seats long travel). While yes, some of the dash components are cheap, I can live with it. They at least made an effort to make a minivan look different. The engine is smooth and the new six speed trany works well.

  • Toyota Sienna is great so far! - 2007 Toyota Sienna

Very pleased with mileage on highway. Handles well and has a short turning radius. Seats are difficult to remove and replace. Power window on driver side is hard to regulate.

  • Not very good - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I am very dissapointed in this vehicle. I have had it since September and it has been in for service a total of 103 days. Transmission went out on it. Front rotors were warped so bad the front end shook. Now it rattles over every bump. I cant believe anyone has given it a favorable rating. There must be a half a dozen other owners at the dealership having the same, and more, serious quality and reliability problems like myself. Ill never buy another Toyota!.

While we love the van most of the time, we have had it in the shop way too many times (at least 8) in 20 months for non-routine items. There is a problem with the middle row passenger side seat belt that Toyota cant seem to fix after 5 visits, and the drivers side sliding door creaks (3 visits), as well as 3 recalls (some trips we had multiple things done). The build quality isnt what we had hoped for from Toyota.

  • SIenna after 3+ years - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I bought the Sienna after two successive mediocreChrysler minivans. I wanted a reliable vehicle, and the Sienna has been a success in that area. Ergonomically, the Sienna is poor at best - not enough adjustment in the tilt wheel and power seat, radio in a poor location, controls on steering wheel in poor locations. The finish work on the leather armrest was poor, and the van continues to have many rattles unless full loaded. In fact, I think Ive just talked myself out of buying it out at the end of the lease.

The defrost doesnt seem to defrost very fast and the captain seats are very comfortable when trying to recline. Everything else about the car is really cool. Several hidden features that are really neat. Not very luxurious but it is very fancy. I like it and I enjoy driving it.

  • Very useful - 2003 Toyota Sienna

Very useful for a family with small children. Almost a 2nd home.

  • Watch out for V6 engines - 2001 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I bought this Toyota based on my ownership of a Camery prior(which was wonderful) and my awful experience with a Dodge Town and County Van. Overall I am pretty pleased with it, but currenly it is in the Toyota Service getting the engine rebuilt. There is only 44,000 miles and we did oil changes as they suggested. However, the entire engine has to be cleaned and rebuilt. According to a posted statement at Jiffy Lube, Toyota is having a problem with their V6 engines. Just in case you wondered, YES they are fixing under warranty, but I was told this we would a one time fix, we will see about that. Anyway, even good car makers can have major problems.
