Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Stay away from 2005... - 2005 Toyota Sienna

Bought my 2005 Toyota Sienna in June 2009, had it till May 2011. We started to notice a ticking noise coming from below the car, turns out the tranny was done, and we also found out later that week that the radiator was leaking! They wanted 4200$ to fix the darn thing! When we traded it in it for a new car, it turns out that 5 years earlier, the van had been in a 7000$ wreck which Guelph Toyota failed to disclose... I would never go Toyota again.

  • Wobble Wobble - 2002 Toyota Sienna

Bought a Toyota over a Chrysler for the Quality. However, it developed a wobble highway speeds at about 8500 miles. Have balanced the Dunlop tires 3 times and eventually replaced them, but the wobble is still there!! Extremely irratating to drive especially when the dealer says its just the road not the van.

  • My Wife Wont Drive Her Lexus! - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Have 800 miles on my 04. This is the best van on the market. Impressive power, great handling, very quiet cabin, lots of interior room. Side curtain airbag storage doesnt intrude into cabin. Turning radius is car like. Very stable on curves, climbs effortlessly. Laser cruise is nice, parking sensors helpful with 04 larger van. A/C kicks! Under hood access to fluids, battery, belts is easy.

My biggest concern in purchasing a minivan was gas mileage. I calibrated the odometer against my GPS (it was perfect!), and then waited until the vehicle had reached 1000 miles. Then I carefully measured fuel consumption for our "around town" (we live in a suburb, so our "around town" doesnt have lots of stop and go), and cross country on open roads. I noted that the mileage computer is exceptionally accurate...within .1 mpg of my calculated mpg. The results: Our town driving...22-23 mpg Highway (under the best circumstances possible)...26-27 mpg. Basically, for a vehicle of this size and power, and with an EPA rating of 18/25, I think this is pretty good, and I am satisfied.

  • Not bad, not great - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Bought new 5/04, came with conventional Dunlop tires that were absolute garbage - had to replace them after first winter as it was like driving on skis. Michelin rules! Reliability otherwise has been good except for battery issues that many others have had - if one interior light is left on for several hours, battery is dead. About a year ago radiator showed signs of seepage which dealer wanted to replace to tune of $1000 - but since we had no puddles/coolant loss we just left as is - still ok. Steering wheel suddenly developed squeak at 68000. Not the worst car I have ever owned but not sure I would buy another.

  • Worst Toyota Ever - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I knew within 6 months this car would not last. I owned it exactly 5 years and had 115k miles on it. Repair Bill at 5 years after spending tons on the 90k service, more than $8k. 1) Both rear passenger sliding doors broken. Watch those cables visible on the sides just under the very back window, they fail and then get stuck in the motor. Over $2800 each to repair. 2) Leaking transmission (2x already) 3) Power steering Motor failure 4) Motor leaking oil in the head gasket 5) Motor leaking oil behind the timing belt 6)3 O2 sensors (yea 3) bad. ==> Junk

  • Best Minivan on the Market - 2006 Toyota Sienna

I think I bought the best minivan on the market. I compared it to the Honda odyssey and there is no comparison. I have the fully loaded one and I am impressed with the handling. Neither rain nor ice hinders its performance. The DVD and NAV help too.

  • Was great until..... - 2007 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We bought a brand new Sienna in 2007 with hopes of it being the family car forever, after all "Toyotas go forever". But about 3 years into it the check engine light came on and starting idling rough. We had never missed a maintenance visit. we were at about 85,000 miles so the warranty was gone. We found out that there is a sensor deep in the engine that had to be replaced, $8,000 to do. Well that was the end of that vehicle for us as we could not afford the repair. we found out Toyota knew about the problem and put out a service advisory, not a recall, which means you are out of luck. Great up until that day the engine light came on. Will not buy Toyota again.

  • Sienna Poor Quality - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Unfortunately, I have to say that after 6 years my Sienna XLE is falling apart around me. All the trim inside the vehicle have or are in process of breaking. The CD player stopped working when the car was 4 years old, the radio goes in and out when it rains or doesnt work at all. The brakes had to be replaced at 38,000 miles, belts replaced, tires OHHH the Run Flat saga. I have never had more flat tires than with the run flats (ironically enough). I personally can not recommend this vehicle to anyone and after a lifetime of owning and driving Toyotas I will not be purchasing another one. Another car company that forgot what made them great. So Sad.

  • Really excellent ride - 2004 Toyota Sienna

I love to drive my minivan, it is so comfortable that I could drive for hours without needing take a break to stretch. It handles like a Lexus and I never have complaints form passenagers.
