Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

This has to be the best vehicle I have ever owned. My only costs have been for regular 5,000 mile maintenance. I replaced the 17 " tires at 31000 mile. It is a great, comfortable vehicle on long trips. Seating is very comfortable.

We took a look at 3 minivans, the Chrysler Town & Country Touring, Honda Odyssey EX-L RES, and Toyota Sienna XLE with extra value package 4. The Sienna has the best ride of all three and handles well. The engine just blows the others away. I wasnt looking for power to win stoplight races but I got it, but I wanted the power for passing or emergency maneuvers requiring power. The quality of the Toyota was the best. I average 21.3 mpg in my Sienna. Toyota Sienna is the best van on the market.

We have had our Sienna for 2 weeks and we love it. Very smooth ride and powerful engine. We are ave 26.3 mpg after 2 tanks of gas. The seats are very comfortable and the interior room is great. We have 2 kids, 2 labs and we still have enough room to fit all of our camping and outdoor gear in the back end. We looked at several SUVs but when we saw and drove the Sienna we knew this vehicle would satify our traveling and space needs. And of course with Toyotas reputation for quality and reliability we are confident that our Sienna will will provide us with a great ride for many years.

  • Watch for falling Odyssey prices! - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Good ol market forces came into play. Loyal Honda owner for 15+ years--price inflexibility opened the door to competitors and Honda has a big one now. We love our 2004 Sienna. Too new to rate reliability but gave conservative 8 based on Toyotas great track record. Roomy, comfortable. Tight turning. Smart features galore. Armrests could be improved. Great performance and MPG even loaded. Friendly dealer and service team at Leesburg was just our type. The improvements I suggest could make a near perfect minivan superior. Glad we already own one because its the next Odyssey and will be hard to find. OK American manufacturers, try to beat this one.

  • Good Minivan But Engine Humming Noise - 2009 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Bought my 2009 Sienna LE in Dec 2008 in Orange, CA. Everything is good, drive smooth, roomy, comft. However shortly after driving, I start to hear engine humming noise, sometimes loud, sometimes not there. Happening specially at acceleration. My friends 2007 has similar problem, others on Edmunds Discussion site mentioned same problem. Any of you seen this problem?

  • Fun to drive - 2006 Toyota Sienna

We bought the Toyota Sienna after we compared it side by side to a Honda Odyssey. Basically, we like the ride of the Sienna more. It feels like a car, we thought the Honda rode like a truck. It is spacious, comfortable - even on the third row and has all the features that Honda has but more options for the same money. I would highly recommend the Sienna.

  • Transmission Leak - 2006 Toyota Sienna

My Sienna has less than 4000 miles and my transmission is already leaking. Its been in the shop for about a week and I guess its taking awhile to dismantle everything and then put it together again. Aside from this defect, the van seems to be pretty good. Its quite roomy to the point that I have difficulty getting out of my tight garage. I really like the turning radius on this van. Ive been getting about 15 miles/gallon on city driving with 4-5 passengers.

Since I purcahesed this Toyota I have been taking this van to the dealership for repairs every 2-3 months. Check engine lights, O2 sensors are some of the more expensive repairs. I regret purchasing this van.

CE was all that we needed and we are enjoying it very much. Quietness, smoothness, and interior versatility gave it the edge over ody and mpv for us (though we liked them all). Our 2nd child is due very soon, had a 12 year old 4 runner so figured it was time to get new car. Thought van would be best for us and we are very happy with it. Hope it lasts for a looong time!

  • Room with views - 2004 Toyota Sienna

We have been waiting for Toyota to improve on the size of its mini vans since they discontinued the Previa. (We still have our 92 Previa, 170,000 miles ) Plenty of room everywhere for storage, seating, leg room etc... Gas mileage so far is excellent. It appears Toyota has stolen ideas from everyone to make this a van of choice. However, Nissan apparently is going to push them with the new Quest with lots of nice features as well.
