Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Drivers Dream - 2004 Toyota Sienna

The 2004 Sienna is a nice ride. Even nicer to drive. We recently decided to look for another van. Our current van is a 1998 Sienna. We test drove the van and were impressed. The handling on country roads is a critical issue for us. This vehicle certainly takes the bumps in the road. It corners like a sports car without losing a bit of traction. The engine doesnt bog down under a load such as mud or snow and ice. It bares down and does its job. We were surprised of the room in the van, a bit more than our current Sienna. We will be purchasing another Sienna. This time with an infant seat and a DVD player.

  • Sienna over Odyssey - 2005 Toyota Sienna

    I considered only Sienna and 05 Odyssey. The "deal-breaker" -- Siennas rear seat audio (not expensive DVD) option, allows rear seat paxs to listen on headphones to audio even if cabin audio off. Hondas only on leather option, w/ DVD. I ordered XLE w fabric seats. "Picking nits"-- Sienna - rear windows open, 05 Odyssey does not; Siennas max torque comes on lower in RPM, though Odyssey has more and more h.p; Sienna - telescoping steering wheel, driving position felt more comfortable; Siennas suspension smoother over rough roads; MPG right on sticker #s. Odysseys seats seemed more comfortable, but after a 5+5 hr trip, Siennas did fine. Odys floor storeage not easy to use;

  • The good, the bad, and the . . . - 1999 Toyota Sienna

Bought this van new as a replacement for 1989 Mazda MPV. Good power and handling (for a minivan) and a very comfortable highway cruiser. Adequate luggage space with all seats up and excellent with rear seats folded or removed. Good size - longer than the MPV and shorter than the Chrysler, Honda, etc. Generally good reliability except for the power sliding door (see below).

  • Safety & Comfort Equals BeauCoup Bucks - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Attracted to this vehicle because of its safety features, smart design elements and its impressive record of performance. Consumer reviews and editor ratings convinced me to place it high on our wish list. Comparatively, this van combines sound family comfort with safe, practicality, but the price tag is inflated. The fully loaded XLE LMTD is difficult to come by or so they say. Having paid much more than the MSRP sticker price well expect and will demand premium customer service benefits from our thirsty Toyota dealership.

  • Great comfort - 2010 Toyota Sienna

The Sienna seemed like our only choice given the features we wanted, mainly a good quality vehicle with AWD, 7 pass seating and 2nd row bucket seats, without moving up to a full size SUV. The ride is much better and more stable than I expected given Toyota cars usual soft, wallowy feeling. The engine power is just right, plenty of passing power and the engine never feels like its struggling. The interior space is great, Im 64" and there is still room for someone to sit behind me, however for me, the seat cushions are too short. There are features on the Limited I wanted such as HID lights, however the price premium was over $5k more, which I dont know how Toyota can justify.

  • Knock, Knock, Knocking on... - 2008 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We enjoy the styling and features of this van and it handling. The safety features were a big selling point as well: vehicle stability control, traction control and side curtain air bags. All the glory of the safety ratings and features fade away with the knocking we hear from the engine on cold start up during acceleration between 1500 and 2000rpm. This noisy diesel sound diminishes after the vehicle is completely warms. The dealer said there was nothing wrong with the engine just normal lifter noise to be expected with a vehicle of this mileage. EXCUSE ME!!! Well folks there you have it 47,000 miles is the new high mileage bench mark for Toyota.

  • an unreliable toyota - 2007 Toyota Sienna

I am not very pleased with this sienna. My other cars are a 10 year old Mercedes and 3 year old BMW. The Toyota has had more recalls than the other two cars combined--6 in total! Currently, the front seat warmer does not work and the the "automated" rear hatch door is a manual door. The AWD tires failed after barely one year of use. Even though all these issues are fixed by the dealer, the hassles and fixes are tiresome--after all, why bother buying a Toyota if this is the quality. I guess compared to the sticking gas pedal problem, mine are nothing to complain about. I will never buy another Toyota again!

  • Best Choice in Minivan Class - 2004 Toyota Sienna

While my wife was less than pleased by going to a minivan, the need for additional space was a necessity- & the Sienna offers an ample supply of it. It drives & rides like my Camry. Looked at many other vans, but just kept coming back to the features offered by the new model. Very nice!!

  • Awesome van - 2007 Toyota Sienna

The acceleration on this van will knock your hat off. The ride is very smooth and quiet. Fun to drive. Fuel economy is good: 20 city, 23 hwy. Cavernous space inside fits our family of 7 and all our stuff easily. For hauling, it fits a full size couch if you take out the middle row of seats out. (Its a trick to learn to take them out, but not bad once you do it a few times.) The big nose is a major bug magnet. The only issue weve had is tire pressure sensor error. Wife has drained the battery three times by leaving lights on... but it fully recharges and works like new. Overall, were highly satisfied and would purchase again.
