Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

Every need is anticipated in this vehicle. A family needs space, entertainment, comfort, toys/performance for dad, compartments and organizers for mom. its has got it all. The navigation is an a great option to spring for. It places the entire audio system on touch screen. However navigation deletes the 6 cd changer. Rich Wood and leather trim really raises the bar on luxury in the minivan category. I think this is the best minivan ever produced. The 60/40 split fold flat rear seat allows you to fold down either part of the seat and still have either 1 or 2 passengers. Other vans that require the whole seat to be folded in.

Approaching the first 5000 miles in our 2012 Sienna XLE - very pleased overall with the purchase. Averaging 20.2 MPG in mixed driving. Got as good as 23 on a recent road trip - fully loaded. Family is very pleased with the entertainment system and overall comfort. Bluetooth and XM/Sirius are fun. Only issue so far was a screw in one of the tires - no issues with van so far. Only real disappointment- Toyota autostart was installed at purchase- not so great- system only works if the car is locked and shuts off if you unlock - Autostart on my last vehicle would stay on until you put the key in the ignition which gives flexibility and doesnt require you to restart the car.

Only serious complaint - I wish the GPS navigation system was available in Canada. This is almost a must have feature in a high end vehicle. Laser cruise control is awesome, makes cruise control practical even off the highway. Sound system is fantastic, wish the DVD player had a larger screen, but this is nit-picking. I dont know why people complain about the unusual stick shift placement, I would rather see it where they placed it than tripping over it on the floor.

  • Misleading MPG sticker/poor battery - 2005 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We reviewed this car very carefully before before buying and were very impressed. After purchasing though, we found 2 major problems. 1st the battery is not capable of running all of the computer components such as the door open sensor, and still have enough charge to start the car. In the first month we jumped it at least 15 times. Cant leave door open for more than 20 min. or open several times. Service dept. says battery tests fine! 2nd. after 4000 miles we have never gotten better than 16.7 in the best conditions. Averaging less than 15.9. Toyota replies that the sticker is a little misleading, sorry bout that! We will be trading in!

My Sienna has been perfect since purchase. Its everything a van should be and adds comfort and charisma. I would recommend it to anyone, but you will pay a premium price to get one.

  • Surprised at defects in first two years - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

So far, Toyota has replaced the radiator and fuel tank under recall as well as an electrical issue and a door seal issue. Under warranty the lift gate plungers were replaced after they outright broke off. Then, the A/C compressor had to be replaced because apparently some kind of road hazzard bounced up and put a hole in it. Poor design / positioning? I mean thats an expensive component to be left exposed to a rock on the interstate. N bolders out there. All in all, I bought a Toyota because of the reliability reputation and so far in 2 years it has been at the dealer a total of 9 days. That seems excessive in just two years.

  • Toyota did it again! - 2004 Toyota Sienna

I traded my 1998 Sienna in on the all new 2004 Sienna and I just love it! The old Sienna had 90,000 miles and was only about half way broke in but the new, sleak design of the 2004 made me want one. I have owned a few Toyota products and each one has been an excellent quality vehicle. Once again, Toyota built one for me!

  • Wonderful VAN!!! - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We like our 2004 Sienna so much that we think that Toyota picked the wrong name for it. My 5 year old son thinks that it should be called the Toyota Supervan and I think that it should be called the Toyota Joy because it is a JOY to drive. Every day we talk as a family about how much we love the features of our van. Can you tell???? WE LOVE OUR TOYOTA!!! IT IS THE BEST CAR WE HAVE EVER OWNED IN ALL OF OUR LIVES! ***** 5 stars THANKS TOYOTA!

  • Luxory, Style, Comfort-& its all mine! - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I had wanted a Toyota Sienna for a couple of years but was glad I waited. The 2004 Sienna is incredible! The exterior is sporty and stylish. The interior is roomy and nothing short of luxurious! My son loves the DVD player and so do I on long trips. A friend asked to see the interior of mine. I gave such a wonderful sales pitch that she went out and bought the exact same one! I love telling others about the wonderful features and feel very proud to own such a well-designed, quality built, beautiful minivan. I cant say enough good things about it. I love it!
