Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

My XLE model is loaded for that trim line and I cant see needing anything else. It has a car-like ride but you can certainly feel the weight. The double auto slide doors and auto rear doors are fantastic if you have kids. The leather is tough and easy to clean. Fold down seats are very handy and easy to use. JBL sound system is easy to use and can be used with a MP3 player. Controls are well labeled and within reach of driver. Dash lighting is "cool" and easy on the eyes. Triple zone heating/AC works very well.

  • a toyota for this? - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Our family bought the Toyota based on their reputation for quality and reliability. Big mistake. We have owned the car for about a year and a half and have had to have the power door replaced( 3 weeks in, and 2 rental cars), the gas tank replaced, along with numerous trim peices, and lots of rattles. The transmission also hesitates a moment between gears(2 other Toyotas Ive driven do this also). The good things: the power, the MPG(25 @80 MPH), the turning radius, and the DEEP cargo well in back. Finally: do your research, and beware of the salesman. We got ripped off at the dealer. PEOPLE BUY TOYOTAS FOR THIS?

After 6 months of daily research I finally have my Sienna LE 8 passenger with option package #6. It is all I hoped for minus the few quirks listed below. Its layout is very well thought out and practical. The ride is very quiet and stable. The turning radius is fantastic and body roll is minimal. 2 long car trips so far were very comfortable for all passengers. Only wish they had put armrests on second row ends. The interior is very spacious. We were able to put 3 child carseats easily across the second row. Overall, I find this van almost perfect when it comes to fitting our needs with 3 kids.

We bought this van to replace a 2002 Sienna. All had been improved between the two models. Interior is a lot roomier and more practical with the third-row seats folding into the floor. Power, handling and braking gave us confidence, along with the safety rating. This last point was a life-saver when the van got rammed on the drivers side by another van going about 70 kmh. While the other van (an earlier Sienna model similar to our old one) was totaled, the 2007 Sienna looked like it could have left the accident on its own. No injuries to the occupants! Had she used almost any other vehicle, my wife would not be alive today. Will keep using Toyota vans.

It does it all well: hauls passengers, commutes, hauls a 1000# trailer.

Test drove all the other minivans available and found the Sienna to be superior by far. Others had better incentives, but the Sienna was worth the the difference. The comfort and security that come with this van is worth the extra cost.

This is a very good looking mini-van that has a lot of power and is a very comfortable ride. I can carry 5 other adults in complete comfort and still stow more items behind the third row of seats. The interior space is very user friendly with all the cup holders and places to stow things.

The Sienna has been a dependable and great family vehicle. Only problem I have had continuously is with the brake system. It seems either the front or rear brakes are CONSTANTLY squealing and I need to have them adjusted almost immediately after JUST having them adjusted. It is very frustrating. And the only response I get from Toyota is that "yes" this is a common complaint with the Sienna and then a description of how the brakes are made and why this keeps happening. Not happy about this at all. But, overall, has been a good purchase and we think it is a good value. Would like to have a bit more storage, but see Toyota now has it with the 2004/2005 models. Good job!

Purchased at 92k from original owner who had only needed routine maintenance. Aside from radiator (below), our only maintenance has been scheduled (including the 90k timing belt swap) and an ATF flush for good measure. OEM front rotors finally replaced at over 100k. After being bled to death by domestic vehicle repair costs (and that with doing lots of the work ourselves) this has been a wonderful change. Easy to maintain, well-thought-out engine layout, etc. Sure footed and nimble: great in upstate NY snow with dedicated snow radials, and a quiet, controlled ride with good quality all-seasons the rest of the year. Our local repair shop is experienced with Toyotas, a good source for advice.

  • I love my Toyota Sienna - 2005 Toyota Sienna

I replaced my 1991 Previa (Toyota) which had 214000 miles with the 2005 Sienna XLE Limited AWD which has the navigation system. This is a must. It can get you to and from anywhere. I have been able to navigate in, out and around Washington DC, Philadelphia, etc., not knowing where I was going. It paid for itself within 4 weeks of having the van. It has a wonderful drive.
