Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Its NOT a minivan, its a car - 2004 Toyota Sienna

After about 3 weeks and a thousand miles, we are very impressed. Prior to our purchase, we drove the competition and were disappointed (accept for the Honda). Smooth, handles well, higher than some SUVs (the drivers side seat really comes up high), very powerful with smooth shifting(I drove the Honda and found the engine having to work harder), and lots of cargo room. Now this may sound weird but I was impressed with the powerful headlights that light up the road like daytime.

My Sienna developed engine sludge at 80,000 miles and is now at the dealer getting repaired. Unfortunately, they arent replacing the engine so who knows how soon the problem may return. Along with the squealing brakes when you come to a stop, now I have smoke bellowing from my exhaust when I start the engine cold. Im very disappointed with the way Toyota has handled this - first misdiagnosing the problem then trying to blame me. Fortunately I have my receipts showing changes every 4500-5500 miles so they couldnt get away with that on me. But it didnt stop them from trying. It is enough to make me take my business to Honda or Nissan.

We loved the car until we started having problems with the jam protection. The jam protection does not work properly in our Sienna and I had two injures within 3 months of owning the van as a result. We brought up the issue to Toyota several times and they say that there is no problem with the door. Suggestion: Try the jam protection in the area where the weather stripping is - in our Sienna it does not funtion properly. Toyota is taking our Sienna back under the lemon laws and we are going to find another van.

  • Whisper Quiet - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Whisper quiet, even at highway speeds! You can hardly hear the engine start. You dont have to shout to hear third row passengers, or crank radio when on the hwy. Solid ride and as fun to drive as a minivan gets. We get about 22.5 mpg combined hwy/city driving. Have only got 24.3 mpg on hwy (at 70mph), not the 27 mpg on window sticker. We have the Sienna LE package, which is similarly equipped to the Honda Odyssey EX, at the Honda Odyssey LX price. And the Toyota Sienna LE has numerous features above and beyond the Odyssey LX! If you can tolerate the look of the front end, stop shopping and buy the Sienna!

Finally my dream came true!! Great features, great customer service. I just bought in in October and went on a small trip. Cant wait till summer to make a long trip. Its the best minivan in current market. Much much better than Odyssey.

We went from the 2002 sienna XLE to the all new 2004 XLE with pck#5, running board, leather, and DVD. We still miss the comfortable leather seat in the 2002 model, but enjoy the many features in the 2004. Have no regrets!

  • Great Van! - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I bought my van from a local dealer at about 1700 less than MSRP. No hassles at all. The only problem Ive had was the alignment was slightly off, but the dealership fixed it right away and gave me a rental while it was in the shop. Otherwise the van is great. This is my first experience with a mini-van and so far I am very satisfied. I especially love the 60/40 third row seat and all the room behind it when it is up and in use. The engine is quiet and smooth. It has a little more road noise than I expected but it isnt that bad. The drivers seat has a manual height adjustment, which is great.
