Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

I know this might seem useless, but for someone shopping, that might want initial reaction ,here it is. I must note, I did not test drive the Honda. No others seem to be in the same class as these 2, so I would not have wasted my time. Plush and quiet ride. I LOVE the new Optronic gauges, ala Lexus! Nice touch!! Vehicle delivers a solid ride. Nice and firm through turns. We went with LE package #4. If you want rear DVD player, dont pay $1300+, when you can go to Best Buy and have nicer one installed for $800. 3rd row seats fold fairly easy, but lots of room with them up for groceries etc. So far so good. Overall, love it! Never say never, mini-van haters!!!

  • Transmission being replaced - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Weve had our Sienna for a month and noticed rough shifting shortly after bringing the car home. I didnt believe my wife when she mentioned it, but after driving it myself it wa clear this was not normal. I took it to our dealership and got the typical "I cant imagine there is anything wrong with your new van, the computer must be learning how you drive." He drove it, agreed with me. It is in their shop presently, he thought they would just hook it up to the diagnostic machine and tweek the computer and it would be back to normal...I had to call them and they told me they cant fix the problem and they are replacing the transmission.

Great minivan with lots of safety features for the family. We really like the power sliding door and power hatch. We use the moonroof all the time and the folding down back row seat is a true "space-maker" The tight turning radius beats most of the other minivans at the school parking lot and lots of extra zip for passing /avoiding trouble on the freeway. The AWD is a superb performer and the reason to buy the car and the side airbags bring peace of mind.

Great van with lots of power. Other minivans that Ive driven (Dodge, Kia) struggled going up hills or at high speeds. The Sienna handles beautifully. The power doors are a very inexpensive option on the LE and are great. If you are looking for an 8 passenger minivan, Sienna is the best option. Most other minivans dont offer 8 seats. The Honda Odyssey does, but it has a very weird half-size 8th seat.

  • Be wary - 2004 Toyota Sienna

I have read many positive reviews of the Sienna but ever since I bought this car in 2003 it has been a money pit. I have replaced the tires...twice! Also, last spring replaced the radiator and now the auto shop tells me I need to sink another $500 into the axle shaft. I hate this car.

Outstanding vehicle no issues just drive and go. The kids dont asks are we there yet! The issue now is do we have to get out!

  • First minivan, some likes and dislikes - 2009 Toyota Sienna

First time minivan owner. I am very pleased with how the vehicle drives. It really feels like you are driving a car. The acceleration is acceptable, and feels sure taking corners. The amenities in the limited are substantial. The sound quality of the bluetooth technology is good. The nav system is not as intuitive as you would like, but I can live with that. The sound system is strong. The back up camera gives you a little more confidence when backing up. My two biggest complaints are the gas mileage (getting about 15 mpg which has some city, but mostly highway miles), and the side doors not stopping when something is in the way.

  • May be my favorite vehicle yet! - 2006 Toyota Sienna

Ive only had my 2006 Sienna for three days but already LOVE IT! I traded in a 2002 Acura MDX that I loved so was worried going to a "van" again. (Owned a Chrysler Sport Mini-Van back in 1996) We own a Lexus GX (our third Lexus SUV) and our new Sienna is SO much like our Lexus in its quality, features and feel. We have five kids with LOTS of stuff so having all the extra room throughout this van is a dream. The sound system (JBL) is honestly the best of any car weve owned! (Lexus, Saab, Audi, Infiniti, Jeep, Chrysler) And although the MDX Navigation System was wonderful, the Navigation system in the Sienna is fast becoming my favorite as well.
