Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Many Problems - 2001 Toyota Sienna
    By -

When I purchased this vehicle I had high expectations. Being rated number two and Toyota suposed to be the best screwed together car. Sorry to say the van has had lots of little problems. Doors that wont open. Removable seats that do not latch in securly. Poor paint quality. Lots of plastic pieces falling off or coming loose. High amount of maintenance required like tire rotation every 6000 miles. Plus service managers that treat you poorly. Took me 6 weeks to get a simple part.

This is my second Sienna. This is the best van I have ever owned. The ride and handeling are excellent. The ease of changing the seats is great. You no longe have to remove the rear seats. I was supprised when I was able to put 10 foot lumber in the van and close the tail gate. The fit and finish is excellent. Im looking forward to many years of trouble free driving.

Terrible intown mileage. Has 1800 miles on it now - hope better later. It gets around 13to14mpg. Hope for 17 on highway. Like to drive in traffic because sits higher and large windows. Has bigger tires, so running board helps getting in. Three adults have sit in the back, but wouldnt want to take a long trip. Sitting like this is ok just going around town. Still getting used to the satillite cruse control. Think will be better when feel more confident using it. Like having the regular cruise to choose when want.

  • Traded in 2004 LTD for 2015 XLE premium - 2015 Toyota Sienna
    By -

The old van had 154,000 + miles and served our family for over 10 years with safety, luxury and comfort. Despite that I am impressed with how the new model looks, drives and feels so much more solidly. The XLE Premium has most of the features we want and omits many that we had but never found useful. The current LTD does not warrant a nearly 10 K upcharge. I read extensively about vehicle reviews over many years and can say the Oddy and Sedona rate highly but for us the Sienna fits our needs. We sat in all 3 at the car show for comparison and several family members who own Siennas and Oddys. Both are excellent vehicles with smooth rides. Its a personal choice.

  • Sienna is a great family car - 2004 Toyota Sienna

We are glad we bought the Sienna. We havent had any problems with the van. It gets very good gas mileage for a full-size van. We got 26-27 mpg with 6 people and loaded with luggage plus going over mountains. The van has great power also. If you want a van that is fun to drive, good mpg, and dependable, the Sienna is it.

  • 15.5 mpg - 2016 Toyota Sienna

You will get 15.5 mpg if u drive all streets and that would be fine if you could tow more than 3500 pounds . My 2010 tundra has a 5.7 v8 and gets same mpg . Sad

  • superb vehicle in all respects - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Toyota family. Have owned multiple toyotas over 20 years. Extended family with 4 odysseys and 3 siennas. Have ridden both for 5 years. New sienna simply superb in handling, style, build quality, room, acceleration, smoothness. Love the all wheel drive. This car is the new standardbearer in the "mini" van market. I say "mini" because interior functional space bigger than any SUV Ive driven including highend mercedes and lexus. Sienna is pricey but worth it. See government safety ratings and crash tests. Cost as much as an old camry to insure because of them.

  • Surprising mileage - 2007 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I got this vehicle because I needed something that was more family friendly than the 04 Tacoma standard cab that I traded in. I didnt want to take a hit in gas mileage, so this minivan ended up being the best choice, compared to SUVs, etc., that could still haul things. With an EPA rating of 26 hwy, I expected to get somewhat less, but I have been extremely pleased with the Sienna. With my mixed commute driving (about 100 miles/day RT, I average 28-29 MPG. Way beyond expectations. I am a conservative driver, but I do the speed limit. Flat out highway only driving, I actually get in the low 30s at 65-70 MPH (according to the mileage display). And, it will hold more than the Tacoma did!

  • Beware of this minivan - 2015 Toyota Sienna

We bought a new 2015 Sienna during the summer of 2015. Though large inside the vehicle is hard to see out of and has sizable blind spots. The car no longer comes with regular tires and the runflat tires that come as standard equipment are of low quality. We only got 20K miles out of ours and replacements cost twice as much as a decent conventional tire. You dont need runflats since if you end up having a problem you wont be able to pop on a spare and continue your trip. You have 50 miles to get to a tire shop or dealer in order to get a new, overpriced tire. While the car is still under warranty the TPS sensors are starting to break. Toyotas policy is to ask customers to commit to paying a fee to determine if the sensors are covered under the warranty. I ask you, if you have to pay to use it what good is a warranty in the first place. Neither Toyota nor the dealer that sold me the car will put this policy in writing, they just refuse to do the work unless you agree. In this day and age you can do better. Be warned and learn from my experience. If I had known then what I know now I never would have bought the car. Update as requested by Edmunds. Minivan continues to have problems. Most recently a door recall that the dealer required to be done during the week and was an all-day fix. For those who work being unwilling to do recall repairs during their scheduled weekend hours shows the lack of customer service Ive come to expect.
