Model Overview:

Buyers looking for a smart choice in the minivan segment will undoubtedly find themselves considering the Toyota Sienna. Since its introduction in 1998, the Sienna has won over families with its versatility, features, safety record and reputation for reliability.

In reviews, we've lauded the Sienna for its smooth, refined ride and easy-to-drive nature. Another plus is that Toyota has generally offered all-wheel drive on the Sienna, making it a more practical alternative to large three-row crossover SUVs. More recent Siennas can be downright plush in higher trim levels, and there's even an SE model with a sport-tuned suspension that's genuinely sporty. Whichever version you choose, you'll be getting one of the most dependable and rewarding minivans on the market.

  • Design Flaws - 2013 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I bought a 2013 Toyota Sienna in January 2013. It is currently below 2000 miles. . At 60% weight load capacity, the ground clearance goes down to about 5 inches. I get honked on highway asking me to pull over and check-out the rear. The weight load capacity specified in the Toyota User Manual is 1355lbs. Even the dealer is suggesting me go buy an aftermarket solution to fix the issue. This is a true safety issue. Don’t even think about installing a tow hitch for a bicycle etc. The van’s rear suspension is too weak to handle a tow hitch with the weight of bicycles.

  • Two Thumbs Up - 2004 Toyota Sienna

These 2004 Siennas are hard to find and once I bought one I knew why. The quality is outstanding, the ride is pure fun and the features are so thoughful. You realize that the story of the Pres of Toyota who drove a 2003 Sienna around North America by himself to find ways to improve it is true. We bought the XLE Limited because it has so much, but we started by testing an LE model. The LE was fantasic in its own right as far as drive quality. This vehicle is very quiet even on roads that cause other vans (Odyssey) to hum you to death. We have four children and were all tall but fit comfortably.

  • Do not buy AWD. Run flat tire nightmare! - 2006 Toyota Sienna
    By -

The run flat tires on this vehicle wore out after 12,000 miles. Replacement tires were $300.00 each, which toyota did not have in stock. Forced to install regular tires. There is no spare tire for this vehicle and Toyota wants $700.00 to install a donut spare kit behind the third row seat, rendering it unfoldable.Toyota refuses to make good on this problem. The fwd has a spare tire mounted underneath. There is no room for it on the all wheel drive version.

  • Comparative shopped - 2005 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I researched vans for 3 months before deciding on the Toyota and the features I wanted. Although there are a few things I dont like, I know I would not be happy with any other van. I narrowed my choices to the Honda and Toyota and test drove each 3 times. Went straight from the Honda dealer to the Toyota dealer so that there was minimal time in between drives to compare. Toyota offers a quieter, smoother and more comfortable ride than Honda. If youre used to heated seats, youre in for quite a disappointment. My van has 7000 miles, the seat cushions have already been replaced and you can not feel the heat at all unless bare skin is touching the leather. Then it just luke warm.

  • The Lexus of Minivans - 2005 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Weve owned Town and Country Minivans and an Honda Odsy. This Toyota is the most luxurious by far, very quiet and smooth riding. Fuel economy is not great, 16 mpg average over 22,000 miles. Visibility is very good, storage is awesome. Laser cruise control is really nice, rear camera is tops. Thoughtful interior touches are everywhere and, the quality of materials is as good as it gets.

  • "A Golf Car Dressed As A Minivan" - 2017 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Ive been driving a minivan for quite a few years now & tried them all out, I was really looking forward for this new 2017 Sienna XLE until I actually got it... For starters, Its engine is as noisy as a sports car but drives like a Golf Car, the pickup is terrible & I mean "TERRIBLE", Ive owned a Toyota Camry & was very impressed so going into this Sienna I wouldnt think twice, But this was a terrible mistake... But of course theres no backing out once you sign the dotted line.. I would rather drive a 99 Town & Country, Toyota should really be ashamed of themselves for releasing such a vehicle & should recall all of there 2017 Siennas until they figure things out.. Do yourself a favor & stay away from this minivan for now!!!

  • 1999 Sienna as seen in 2008-bad tranny! - 1999 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Delighted with the drivability after we bought it in 2005 w/99K mi. Almost no problems the first 2 years. Then in quick succession the radiator and starter failed, soon followed by the tranny. We took it to a reliable tranny shop recommended by our mechanic. They fixed it and we continued to drive it problem free for about 7 months, when the tranny again went out. We took it back to the same shop, who stood by their guarantee, though they kept having problems getting everything right and had to start over about 5 times (cost us only about $200.00 for one addl part). We drove it only 3 months and the tranny again went out; now no longer under warranty from original repair. Selling this $ pit.

  • Best car I ever owned - 2004 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Installed a trailer towing package and likewise installed an air lift air bag system for the rear coils and that made a tremendous difference and ride and handling, loaded or unloaded. Pulled a 2700 lb load 10 ft. cargo trailer to Dallas Texas and back like a breeze. At 105000 miles we did the first brake pad change and purchased premium high dollar replacement pads installed for $395.00 at our friendly Chev dealer. Toyota wants to rob you. Replaced the original factory crappy tires at 74000 miles with the superlative Goodyear Triple Tread Assurance tires (Nitrogen filled). This van handles like it were a Cadillac STS. Beautiful ride. Fuel mileage is consistent average is 28 down to 23.

  • Should have bought the Odyssey - 2011 Toyota Sienna
    By -

My wife and I were very excited to be the first on our block to own the new Sienna Limited. But since driving it home, weve experienced a lot of problems for a brand new car. The navi screen has blacked out on warm days and the Toyota dealer cant seem to fix the issue. We found the road noise on the highway is really bad. Fuel economy is about 10 MPG around town and maybe 16 at best on the highway, both my wife and I are irate about this. The dealer says its "Breaking in" (at 4000 miles). I came out to the car last night and it wouldnt start. Toyota Customer Service thinks it could be a security fault and now Im back at the dealer. Im just glad I was at home and not stranded at night!

  • Squeaky brakes solved - 2002 Toyota Sienna
    By -

I purchased this vehicle with 4 miles on it and it was the best decision I made. I have yet to do anything but preventative maintenance - gotta love. Just replaced my brakes at 45K and guess what-no more squeal!. Per the brake specialists my brakes squealed because they needed shimming.
