This Year's Model Updates:

The standard 4.7-liter V8 now delivers 282 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque and is hooked to a five-speed automatic transmission. The Sequoia also gets a new front fascia and grille, redesigned taillamps, an in-glass antenna and color-keyed fender flares. A new sport package for the SR5 includes foglamps, tubular running boards, a height-adjustable rear suspension, a front skid plate, the JBL premium sound system and 16-inch alloy wheels. A new Limited Luxury package includes second-row leather bucket seats, a removable center console, unique wood trim, electroluminescent gauges, the height-adjustable rear suspension and memory for the driver seat and outside mirrors. Other additions include available push-button engagement for the 4WD system and an optional navigation system. There's also a new rollover sensor that triggers the side and head curtain airbags in the event of a rollover accident. A third-row center headrest has been added to all Sequoias.

Pros:
  • Refined drivetrain, surprisingly agile handling, versatile and comfortable interior, Toyota reputation for reliability.
Cons:
  • Nondescript styling, low towing capacity for a full-size SUV.

  • Best Vehicle Ive ever owned! - 2005 Toyota Sequoia

I bought this SUV used and have never had to have any work done on it except normal upkeep. It is the most comfortable car Ive ever owned. When replacement time comes, I will replace it with another Sequoia.

  • Great Family Vehicle - 2005 Toyota Sequoia

This is an awesome family vehicle. The only downside is it consumes A LOT of gas, hard on the wallet when gas prices are so high. We LOVE it though.

  • A Great and comfortable ride - 2005 Toyota Sequoia

This is a geat SUV that puts the familly into a vechicle. It rides and drives like a much smaller car! (Yes I said Car) I enjoy it creature comforts and put a-lot of satifaction and peace of mind that I drive a safe and reliable Toyota.

  • Worth waiting for - 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Tested the QX56,Navigator,Escalade,Land Crusier and GX470, 2005 Sequoia was far superior to them all in value and price. So instead of buying a 2004 that has already lost its value, waited a month for my dealer to get in the new 2005 Sequoia. The new luxury package makes Sequoia a true competitor. Roomy, quiet, and has all the bells and whistles describes the new 2005 Sequoia Limited. My wife was so impressed with the vehicle (she drives an MDX) she is considering getting her own 2005 Sequoia. Cant say enough about the Sequoia, Toyota reliablity, dependable, good resale, high demand. Keep up the good work Toyota!

Great vehicle inside and out. I wish it had better fuel mileage, but it is an SUV. Highly recommended.

  • Family fights to drive the Sequoia! - 2005 Toyota Sequoia

ItÂ’s a 2004, owned for 18 months, with 21K. It has been very reliable, so far. Yea its large, yet doesnt ride like a big a boat. Makes you feel like your driving a vehicle half the size. Has a smooth, comfortable ride in any seat. Engine has nice pick up and the gas mileage isnt as bad as I thought it would be. I have gotten up to 19 miles to the gallon (speed limit driving) on the highway! Love this SUV!

    Loving it all the way!!!

  • Not great - 2005 Toyota Sequoia

We bought it to replace a Honda Odyssey because it was quieter and felt more solid. However, it performs worse, averages 7 MPG less and is not as comfortable or cargo-friendly. It refuses to get over 18 mpg on the highway and averages 13 in town. The socket to slide the 3rd row middle shoulder belt into will not hold it in place, so it dangles from the roof. One of the plastic moldings on the exterior of the rt. rear door came loose for no reason. The power rear window motor burned out and needed to be replaced. The dealer said that was common.(???) The rubber flaps in the front cup holders have torn out so cups arent held snug. Too many cheap, hard plastic surfaces inside.

Purchased it two weeks ago. Love it, best SUV I have owned. Fuel mileage could be better but hey its a SUV. Plenty on interior room, beautiful vehicle on the outside. Very glad I bought it.

  • very well designed - 2005 Toyota Sequoia

The primary reason I liked this vehicle is the exterior design - it looks luxurious and comparable to the Land Cruiser. The fender wall makes this vehicle muscular. After I purchased the vehicle, I was very satisfied w/ the handling and comfort of driving. What about the engine? It feels very powerful. The actual mileage Im getting so far driving on surface streets is about 12 to 13 miles per gallon; on the freeway, Im getting about 14 miles per gallon. I logged all mileage and gallons of gas when I fill up my tank so thats how I obtained the numbers.
