This Year's Model Updates:

Already sporty-looking, the RAV4 compact SUV gets even sportier thanks to a new optional sport package that adds a new grille, a hood scoop, color-keyed door handles, heated exterior mirrors, tubular roof rack and gray-painted bumpers and overfenders. Inside, the package adds special sport fabric seats.

Pros:
  • Steers and handles like a car, thoughtful cabin design, well-built interior.
Cons:
  • Small displacement engine for the class, noisy, most of the desirable equipment is optional.

I have owned 4 types of Toyota dating back to a 1994 Corona, a Tecel, 2 Camrys, now the Rav and I love it. I just wish it had a V6 engine. But, I can live with the 4.

We just traded in our "old man" Malibu for the Rav4 with sport package. Its very stylish and the ride is surprisingly smooth for an SUV. We needed a car that could transport our full-size cornholio (beanbag)game to tailgates outside the ballpark. The Rav didnt come with security/keyless entry, so we went to Bestbuy and had them install the complete keyless entry/security/remote start system which will be nice to have during the Chicago winters. The gas mileage is about the same as we had with the 6 cyl. Malibu. I love this SUV and look forward to many years of driving bliss!

Priorities for this car: Reliability, Reliability, and overall usefulness. Toyota wins hands down in the first two. Almost bought an Escape, but read Consumer Reports and changed my mind. Automatic was a must because of all the phone, food, map juggling, etc. Although a solid shifter, it is a poor match for the engine. Mileage is only fair (23 mpg). Ride and noise is comparable to a compact car. Back seats are very versatile. Lots of neat little compartments. Easy entry for 200 lb 6 guy. Steering wheel placement is a little off. Either my legs are too long or my arms are too short. Nice runaround car. I love it!

MY RAV gets 24 MPG on highways while my Pilot gts 21MPG.Why the small difference. Both use premium gas and carry just my bag and lunch bag. Got rip off buying this car, swear will never get a TOYOTA, 6 of my co-workers got their cars from my Pilot dealer while 13 more are in line and gettin their first car. Its a personal crusade of mine to vear out every friend and acquaintance out from Toyota delearships

The Toyota RAV 4 is perfect for what it was designed for. A compact SUV that is sporty and fun to drive. If you looking for power and space then the RAV 4 is not for you.

Very happy with purchase, only drawback is the noise in the cabin, plenty of sitting room and storage, easy removal of seats for all storage, decent mileage for an SUV.

I got this car as a birthday present from my parents. I am very happy with it most of the time, but there are a few annoying things. My car vibrates constantly, especially in the morning when I am stopped. The gas mileage is a little rough and I have to fill up my tank often. The engine is also very small; not too much power. The back set has minimal leg room. On the up side, the car is easy to drive and I love how roomy it is in the front (I dont feel claustrophobic when I drive). I also love the stereo system and how easy it is to park my car. It it nice that the car is comfortable because I do a lot of driving.

Biggest piece of junk ever produced. Wish I had driven it longer than the test drive. Nothing but problems. Underpowered, overpriced, holier than thou attitude at the dealer. Conned into buying one because of claimed reliability. Traded it in for a Saturn Vue V6 AWD a far better car in every respect.
