This Year's Model Updates:

Already sporty-looking, the RAV4 compact SUV gets even sportier thanks to a new optional sport package that adds a new grille, a hood scoop, color-keyed door handles, heated exterior mirrors, tubular roof rack and gray-painted bumpers and overfenders. Inside, the package adds special sport fabric seats.

Pros:
  • Steers and handles like a car, thoughtful cabin design, well-built interior.
Cons:
  • Small displacement engine for the class, noisy, most of the desirable equipment is optional.

  • Now We Have Two RAVs - 2003 Toyota RAV4
    By -

My wife already has a 03 RAV already that we both enjoy. When the opportunity presented itself to purchase a second we jumped at the chance. These RAVs are the greatest. With a herniated disc, getting in and out of the car is easy. Has loads of get up and go and I love how you sit up high enough to see everything.

  • great car - 2003 Toyota RAV4

Great car 4x2 model, gets 26 mpg hwy about 23-24 in town. I have had it since new now with 32k miles. Absolutely no problems. If I were to pick one negative issue if would be slightly underpowered with a.c on when in hilly areas. This is my 4th Toyota, i.e tacoma, tundra, yaris, all good vehicles. Paint on all Japenese cars is excellent. Try one, you will be happy.

  • I love my RAVioli - 2003 Toyota RAV4
    By -

I bought my RAVioli because I knew it would be quality. It corners very well, and I take them all fast. Never had any problems with it. I had one rattle from the roof rack, but that was because I didnt tighten the screw all the way. You know, the idiots who dont rate this well probably dont take care of it, or maybe the RAV was put together in the USA, because they sometimes do a half-*ssed job of building things. Or they just had bad luck. But dont take it out on the car, it is probably your fault in the first place. :)

I think the RAV4 is a great purchase. It has a sleek body design and handles exceptionally well. It is very comfortable and I am very impressed with the miles per gallon.

  • I have try it, it is worse than i though - 2003 Toyota RAV4

I have testdrive it, the color was impressive (the blue one), but the inside feature and the dealership is not that goooood. Generally the car is ok, inside doesnt have a great room, but acceptable.

  • Easiest Purchase Ever! - 2003 Toyota RAV4

Before buying my RAV4 I researched for 6 months going back and forth between it and the Mazda Tribute. Well, the RAV won hands down. I loved the reliability and the ratings it got from experts and other consumers. I dont regret buying it at all!

  • 4 yr / 100K Review - 2003 Toyota RAV4
    By -

After 4 yrs and 100K+ miles on my RAV4 I have had no problems whatsoever. What a great car. This is my first Toyota. No wonder people love em. Has been to the dealer for routine maintenance only. I seem to have finally done something to it: there is a slight squeak under the dashboard that I plan to have fixed soon. Besides that all I have spent on it is fuel and oil only. Too bad the new one is an oversized version, this was the perfect size (and I am 6"1 220 lbs).

  • ECM /Transmission Problem - 2003 Toyota RAV4

I rarely write reviews online but I want to share my experience with this vehicle...My RAV4 is in excellent condition until I hit 89K on my 2003 RAV 4 last month when its started jerking on shifting. Im 3 months passed out of extended warranty as per TOYOTA 10 YEARS/150,000 miles. I took mycar to the dealer but told me I need to pay $$$$ for the diagnostic and repairs because of out of warranty...Even calling TOYOTA Customer Relation is still no help..This is my last TOYOTA ever...You lost one loyal customer...I traded my RAV4 for a 2013 Honda Accord...
