I bought this with 15,000 miles on it and it has 116,000 on it now and never had any problems with it, I guess its time to change the plugs other than that, I will be looking for a newer one soon and getting a nice resale on this one.

Great car! original owner...Wish it had 3rd row seats...the newer models do. I am looking at upgrading to a newer model of the same car, so that tell you how great of a car. I probably will not trade in or resale this one though.

  • Truck or Car - 2002 Toyota Highlander

I have owned 2 previous toyotas and loved them both. I had to get out of my Solara due to back problems. When I first drove the highlander I couldnt tell that I was in a truck, it drove so much like a car. I have had the highlander since November and I absolutely love it. It is worth the extra money for the limited, it looks alot nicer and I love the leather. It drives much nicer than the 4-runner and since it is built on a Lexus chassis, it is great for my back. There is nothing I dont love about this truck. Outstanding value, superb ride and Toyota quality. I would buy another one tomorrow.

We love this car. It has a great ride, is mechanically sound and the V6 engine gives it plenty of power. We are quite happy with it.

Not a bad vehicle but should come better equipped. For 28K, you only get cloth seats, power driver seat, and a moonroof. I was able to prive a Lexus RX w/ similar features at 33.5K, should have gone for that but the car was for my mom and she didnt want to pay the price difference. For little more, she would have had the leather and a 4 year warranty, oh and wood instead of that fake aluminum looking stuff on the dash.

  • What a great crossover vehicle !!!! - 2002 Toyota Highlander

This is my first Toyota and it is absolutey awesome. The quality of vehicle is superb. I still can not believe it is an AWD vehicle, because it does not drive like one. The brake is excellent with excellent fuel efficient. It is the best SUV I have ever bought. The push bottom and knobs of A/C are elegant. It "feels" great.

I went from a FordExplorer to a Rav 4 to this, all new. I will not give this vehicle up for the world. It fits 3 car seats comfy in the back and rides like a car. It is so quiet i can hear my kids breathing. I had the basic package installed from port than put in extras myself, it was cheaper, i added playstaystion 2, dvd, tvs, roof rack, mud guards, roof rack, alarm, tint. Wouldnt change it for the worl. My sister bought one the week later and my mom the Seqouia TRd edition. We are now all Toyota Lovers. :)

  • Nearly perfect car w/ couple small flaws - 2002 Toyota Highlander

Primarily my wifes round-town ride, she loves it is 54" and 115 lbs. I like it very much except on our 300 mile road trips the seats are a little small for me 62" 180 lbs. Reliable, rattle free. Cant drive over 20mph with rear windows down, messes your ears up...get the kids to shut up though! I would have bought one for me if the seat was not so small. Rear seat room is excellent for kids and adults.

  • Roomy, reliable, ponderous gas-hog - 2002 Toyota Highlander

After five years and 27,000 miles, I have mixed feelings about our 2002 Highlander. Like all Toyotas it has been super-reliable, and maintenance has cost less than $600 including one pair of tires. However, even with the V6 engine this vehicle is fairly sluggish and gets about 16-17 mpg around town and 20-22 mpg on the highway. Handling is secure but feels ponderous. There is a bewildering array of levers protruding from the steering column. The storage compartment between the two front seats is horrible: narrow and deep, with a two-part cover that jams easily. The seats are only semi-comfortable on long trips. OK if you need an SUV, I guess, but nothing to get excited about.
